Me and partner chose to stay at Villa Carolina for our first trip to Italy based on all the great reviews, which are absolutely spot on.

We were meant to have stayed for 7 nights but unfortunately due to a cancelled flight only managed to stay for 5 :(.

Emanuela and Carlo were such amazing hosts from start to finish. I had to speak to Emanuela quite frequently prior to our arrival due to the issues we had with our flight and she did everything to accommodate our needs. She arranged for a taxi from Naples airport as we didn't arrive until 11pm, we were then greeted by Carlo when we eventually arrived at the Villa at midnight.

Emanuela gave us lots of local information on trips and places to go and arranged our trip to Capri which was amazing.

We stayed in the classic room with garden view and it was just beautiful, very spacious, bright and clean with a massive bathroom and a lovely little area to sit out in at night near the hot tub.

Emanuela and Carlo grow all their own food so you can imagine how delicious breakfast was and to top it off the view from the breakfast tables was just breath taking,

The Villa is located in the beautiful hills and is about a 10 min shuttle bus into Sorrento centre, this runs 8 times a day in and out and the times are perfect for going out in the day and night. You can also walk into the centre down quite a few steps, the views are amazing and it only takes about 15 minutes, but I wouldn't want to walk back up, it may be quite a challange.

Unfortunately we had to move accommodation on the Friday due to our flight changes, we moved into a hotel in the centre which was no comparison to the Villa. If you want to stay in Sorrento I definitely recommend you stay up in the hills at Villa Carolina it just gives you such a better experience with the views.

Carol's brother also has a restaurant down on the port, I would definitely recommend an evening meal here as well. Carlo I am sure will be more than happy to arrange a reservation for you. The food is delicious and it’s right on the water, just perfect. Definitely have an ice-cream for dessert.

We managed to get a bus back to Naples airport at 06.30am on a Sunday from Sorrento train station and it only cost €10, slightly cheaper than the €90 taxi when we came in,

We cannot thank Emanuela and Caro for all they did for us and their friendly hospitality, they made our holiday one to remember, we will definitely go back some time in the future to see them and we highly recommend the Villa Carolina to anyone who is looking for a stay in Sorrento to be remembered.

Happy holidays :)

Room tip: We stayed in the classic room with garden view, it was perfect, comfy beds and very quiet.

My wife and I visited Sorrento during our honeymoon and had a wonderful time at Villa Carolina. It’s a beautiful spot with great people making sure we had a fantastic time. Breakfast every morning makes the start of each day very easy. They’ve thought of everything with a shuttle for guests to and from the center of town. With suggestions and guidance of what to do on your stay, they go out of their way to help. Villa Carolina is a great spot for your stay in Sorrento.

As like many of the reviews on here, we too feel like it is a home from home. We had a truly magical stay that will stay with us for many years to come. So many happy memories and times that we shared at the villa.
We usually stay at a hotel but reading the comments on here we opted for the villa and we are so glad that we did. It is hard to put into words how welcome we felt and certainly part of the family. It is a close family run villa and all members of the family we have cherished in getting to know- you have all left an imprint on us. Carlo, your eggs at breakfast are the best we have ever had. Emmanuella, you have been so welcoming and always smiling. Mama Mary your food - wow! We have all learnt so much from your cooking lessons that we will continue creating at home. My husband enjoyed the yoga under the lemon trees and my favourite was the cold jacuzzi and private garden that we often had just to ourselves, bliss! My daughters enjoyed everything but particularly the Saturday children’s club that was on at the village school. They felt very welcomed and enjoyed the water games with the local children and the snacks.
We stayed at the two bedroom apartment which was well equipped and the fridge and freezer was brilliant to hold products purchased at Deco (supermarket near to the drop off shuttle service in the centre).
The locality of the location was spot on for us - not too far from the centre but away from the hustle and bustle of town life when you just want to relax. We enjoyed our trip to Capri and Pompeii as well as a beach day at a local hotel. It was great to be in expert hands as Emmanuella has lots of knowledge and suggestions to suit our preferences.
Also another positive to note is the fact of how small the accommodation is in terms of the amount of guests staying. This made it feel even more like home and it was lovely to get to know other guests coming for a honeymoon, family stay or simply sightseeing. We met guests from London, America, Ireland, New Zealand, Germany and France, all very pleasant and taken away with the beauty of Italy.
We shall return and it isn’t surprising when we heard and saw the photos of past guests and that some have come back year after year.
Thank you for your kindness and hospitality.

Room tip: Apartment was superb for a young family

Villa Caronila is a wonderful place to stay. Emanuela and Carlo are such incredible hosts - so friendly, so helpful, so accommodating. When we first arrived I wondered whether we should have stayed so far out of Sorrento but I quickly realised that the answer was "yes!"...the villa and rooms are beautiful, the views from on top of the hill are stunning and Sorrento can be busy and overcrowded. It was very easy to walk down to the town and the shuttle bus is really helpful as well. We ate there on a couple of occasions and the food was delicious. They have such delicious home-grown, organic produce. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit the region.

Great place, great food and very friendly personel. Family owned. Carlo, Emanuela and Pepe are very good at what they do. They have manners and will do more than most to accomodate their guests. When in trouble (in our case) they put all their time and effort to help out.

1. Room: 4,5/5 ( clean, spacious, well kept, comfortable)
2. Wi-Fi: 5/5 (Great connection and bandwith)

4. Breakfast: 5/5 (Just great!)
5. Dinner: 5/5 (Carlo’s creations: antipasti, main dish, dessert)
6. Parking: 4/5 ( narrow street leading to the parking lot, the parking lot is otherwise very good)
