Comfy and clean hotel, although the rooms are an older Italian style. The bathroom is annoying with a shower curtain. Although the wifi is free with no limit which is fantastic! Location is okay, fantastic views of the coast but a 5 minute drive to the city center down the hills, no way you could walk! Dinner and breakfast were pretty good, although the breakfast choice wasn't much. Swimming pool is quiet small! I wouldn't stay there again but I'm used to minimum four star americanised hotels.

As part of a wonderful Italian vacation with our dearest friends, my husband and I renewed our acquaintance with this gem of a hotel. We had stayed here several years ago and vowed to return one day. We were NOT disappointed!
Situated on a hillside outside Sorrento, we had an amazing view of Mt. Vesuvius and the surrounding landscape. The rooms are tastefully decorated in the cool blues of the Mediterranean and the golden yellow of the native lemons. The entire hotel is spotlessly clean and the grounds are very well kept.
However, the most outstanding feature of this establishment is the staff. They truly made us feel at home with their warmth and caring attitude. Giovanna (the hotel's owner and namesake) greeted us with smiles and hugs each day and personally took the time to escort us to the local "mercato" where we sampled delicious cheese and had the opportunity to feel like locals. She always was available to assist us with decisions about dining, shopping, etc. When we arrived, we parked our rental car and used the complimentary shuttle to Sorrento town center every day. Various staff members, including Umberto and Gennaro, drove the shuttle and shared bits of helpful information on our many trips to town and back even though the ride lasted just a few brief minutes. They even added an extra trip to accommodate our hectic schedule.
The restaurant serves wonderful food, both indoors and out, at extremely reasonable prices. The maitre d', Giuseppe, is a wonderful host, providing suggestions for dinner and his "special" tomatoes and basil from the hotel's own garden.
Elvira, Rosella, and Peppino round out this family-run home away from home staff. Their smiles and helpful information made a memorable six days a perfect get away.
We DEFINITELY will return to Sorrento and visit Johanna Park Hotel and our new found friends again.

Room Tip: Swimming pool is small, but gives the infinity edge experience. Rooms with a view are a bit more ex...

I stayed in Feb '12 and had a great stay. The owner, Mrs Johanna or her son would drive me into the centre of Sorrento and inform me on how to travel whether I was going to Napoli, Amalfi or Pompeii etc. Nothing was a problem to them. The hotel room was very clean and the staff very friendly. The breakfast was a buffet with cereals, yoghurts, croissants, rolls, slices of ham 'n cheese and they also offer a cooked breafast. I never ate in the restaurant as I chose to eat out. I will be back.

Beautiful family run hotel, personal service unsurpassed! Magnificent breakfast and friendly helpful service. Nothing was a problem, extra blankets and pillows sent up to the freezing Queenslanders. Short ride to town. The view from the roof..speechless. Wifi in lobby free, bar open to us all hours. Relaxing and real Italian hospitality.

rooms were large, very clean, and beautifully decorated. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Had dinner at the hotel a couple of times, and the food was excellent. Courtesy bus into sorrento ran on time, but it was possible to walk down via the steps without much difficulty, (walking back up not so easy!)
nice to be waya from the hustle and bustle of sorrento town.

roof terrace needs to be brought into use, and would be good to have a pool

Room Tip: sea views stunning

Stayed for 3 nights in this property while on our driving trip through Italy...Up the hill from Sorrento a tough walk into the city, one I would not rccommend, Hotel runs shuttles to the town and will break there timetable,as they did for us when we missed one of scheduled trips and take uou at any time. The rooms and the view are to die for. Family run and as such they treat you like a member. The restaurant is great and the waiters are very freindly and talkative. Make sure if you stay here that you ask for sea view as the stunning views from the rooms are worth every penny that you pay,. Great Hotel.......

Room Tip: want to havesecond or third floor sea view rorom. Ours was 307 and was top corner...probably the bes...
