Our first night in Sorrento we wandered into a narrow passage way which led to a restaurant where you have the choice of eating inside or on the terrace. The furnishing is homely which is matched by the personal service of the waiters and maître d'restaurant. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, bread and oil is freely available as is a taster of the pizza bread with oregano and oil.
The food we experienced was really tasty and the house wine complemented the food. We were also treated to a lemoncello at the end of the meal. My personal recommendation is the nougat ice cream with roasted almonds mmmmm! Unfortunately my husband has a nut allergy so he couldn't experience this delight, but he was equally impressed with the pannecotta with a raspberry coulis.
For two courses, wine, water and coffee it cost us approximately €70 including a cover charge. We will be going back if only for the ice cream and the 'free' Italian lessons!
