“Tour of Pompeii, Sorrento, and Positano”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2012

On May 1st my family and I visited Pompeii, Sorrento, and Positano. The tour was arranged and led by Nello Iaccarion of Balla In Style. Nello arranged for a roomy van to pick up the four of us in Rome to transport to Pompeii (about 2.5 hours away). Nello had water waiting for us in the vehicle.

Upon arrival at Pompeii, Nello greeted the van with more water, wet naps to refresh, a map of the site, and our tickets for entry. He led us on an educational tour and knew the ins and outs of the site and the way to avoid large crowds while seeing all of the features. It was an excellent and extremely informative tour.

We then left Pompeii in the van headed for Sorrento for lunch and shopping. Unfortunatley, traffic was extremely heavy given it was Europe's Labor Day (while the sites are open this day, I would discourage you from driving in/out of Rome on Labor Day as the traffic is a nightmare). So we left the van driver and took a train to Sorrento instead. Nello had called ahead to the restaurant and had a table and appetizers waiting for us (we honestly felt like famous people from the way we were taken care of). Nello also ordered the best dishes on the menu for us and even helped serve our table. After a delicious meal (the best we had on our 2-week trip), we walked a few blocks away to a quaint shopping district. We then bid Nello goodbye and met our van driver after shopping.

Our last stop was a 20 minute drive away to the Amalfi Coast/Positano. The view of the coastal village was breathtaking and well worth the drive. Unfortunatley, the road out became blocked for over an hour (we aren't sure why), but it had to do with the heavy traffic. The 2.5 hour ride back to Rome turned into 5 hours - our poor driver didn't expect to be out so late with us.

Overall it was a fantastic visit despite the traffic and since nothing else was open in Rome this day, it made sense to book it. My advice to other travelers would be to avoid Europe on this holiday.

“Balla InStyle”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2012

I went to Italy in May 2012. I used www.BallaInStyle.com to arrange a trip to Pompeii and a tour of Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. We were picked up from our hotel promptly as promised in Rome and toured the ruins of Pompeii with Nello Iaccarino. He had great knowledge of the area and took us to all the important sites. He oversaw our visit to Sorrento and we had a wonderful lunch there ( a place where Nello recommened). We proceeded to shop afterwards and then took a tour of the beautiful Amalfi Coast. The trip was enjoyed by the entire family and would recommend it to anyone visiting Italy. The only negative would be that we visited on a holiday and the coast was very busy with folks enjoying their holiday and traffic was very terrible; however, this would not be a concern on a normal weekday.

“Planned to Perfection”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2012

Its difficult to surrender control on expensive and 'once in a lifetime' trips. You hope for the best and often are disappointed, but with Nello & Donna the experience and the memories far surpass all of our expectations! From the start you sense the difference with their interest in what YOU like and dislike and offer suggestions from there. Their contacts and recommendations (see Leone Russo, and yes the cooking class was not to be missed) were perfect. Professional and organized and seemly knowing what your doing at every point of the trip was reassuring . Plan changes were met with a smile and a quick call and resolved. Nothing missed Nello's attention. It was like having family look after you, and I am pleased to have Nello & Donna in our 'extended' family. Hope to use their services again, and recommend them without reservation.

“The Only Way to See Pompeii & Herculaneum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2012

We had so little time to see both Pompeii & Herculaneum and were delighted to have found Nello's gem of a tour agency. As we had our own vehicle, we chose to drive to Pompeii and right on time, we met our tour guide. His English was excellent and his knowledge of both sites was both wide and deep. With only four of us traveling together, he was able to take us in to every building avoiding often lengthy lines from the larger tour groups. He drove with us to Herculaneum where he once again showed us the site with an amazing display of knowledge. He brought the people and their culture alive for us and not just another ancient ruin. We could never have seen all that we saw and experienced on our own, and still had a good part of the day left to explore Naples. (But that's another story unto itself).

“Our Fantastic Vacation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2012

Nello and Donna,
Thank you so much for all your help planning the most amazing vacation to the Amalfi Coast. You are Awesome. I am still at awe with your promptness getting back to us with the email I sent you. You listened and then planned our whole trip in a matter of hours!
Your love for the area you were born in is apparent with your wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm, and information you shared with us.
Your advice for each situation we experienced was perfect! From the moment Vincenzo met us at the airport (in the classy, comfortable black Mercedes Van) and welcomed us to Italy...
to your recommendation for the Hotel Antiche Mura in Sorrento, which was fantastic. (The room was spacious, beautiful, and in the perfect location! ), your recommendation for dinner at il Leone Rosso Ristorante (the Red Lion) was excellent (and so was their Lemoncello).
Our tour to Positano, Amalfi and Ravello was breath taking. After seeing the road that leads up the Amalfi Coast we were so glad we left the driving up to you!
We would highly recommend Nello with out hesitation to anyone planning a trip to the beautiful Amalfi Coast! Grazie di tutto! Ciao. Michelle & David from ATL GA
