This Hotel is very centrally located in the town of Sorrento; in between the Marina and the town center with all the shops and restaurants. I am glad we stayed in Sorrento in comparison to Positano or Capri. We has easy access to both by booking private day trips instead of being in the middle of the craziness in those towns.
Hotel was a nice one, with a nice lobby, great breakfast, and good friendly service. The only thing was its very close to a school and the kids are a bit noisy in the morning and they will wake you up, which we didn't mind because we wanted to get a full days worth, however, this could be somewhat of an issue for people who want to sleep in. In all fairness, I am sure you can ask for a room in a different part of the hotel not adjacent to the school and, if you visit during the summer, this won't be an issue. The blankets and the sheet can get an improvement as well.
But, All n all we had a great stay!!

The website shows a glorious hotel overlooking the mediterranean from your balcony. However, the room we got had views over a concrete staircase piled high with building materials, overgrown plants and had the look of a lost corner, unseen by the human eye for some considerable time. The room was pokey and in need of some TLC. The sheet didn't quite cover the bed so wrinkled up when you slept. They did move us to another room which was larger but the view was over a staircase which looked like it was a fire escape. Not a nice place to sit when you want to enjoy the sunshine (which we could only see if we tilted our heads upwards as the staircase was right in front). We were eventually given a third room, this time with a little view over the sea and a much better room. But we only had use of that room for 24 hours. The rooftop verranda was lovely but you couldn't get a drink - you had to call someone to get one but there was no phone. It wasn't obvious what bar was open when (briefly explained as we checked in but quickly forgotten) and details weren't given in the room so we ended up spending most of our time outside of the hotel. There was a poolside bar but it looked tired and makeshift so we avoided it. We decided not to try the food in the hotel as, given everything else, it seemed too risky. Not what we were looking for for our luxury weekend away. Very disappointing.

Room Tip: Be clear that you want an outside balcony, overlooking the sea.

My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of dining on the rooftop terrace and were so impressed in all aspects of our experience. The food, the ambience and especially the 5 star service received. The service was exceptional! Thank you to Antonio, Mario and Tobia for treating us as guests in their own homes, we were made to feel like family! Thank you!!

Excellent location in Sorrento close to walk to all restaurants and shops easily as well as the lift or stairs down to the beach/port for the trips to Capri.
Service was great all staff are welcoming and attentive. Breakfast had large selection. Room was compact but clean and adequate for our stay being out all day although. My partner found the bed very hard but they added a memory foam topper when we informed the hotel.
I would recommend to others and stay again.

We stayed at the Hotel Continental whilst in Sorrento for my son and daughter in law's wedding at the Cloisters. The Hotel surpassed our expectations. The accommodation was very comfortable - everything we needed - good wifi coverage - great views from most of our party's balconies. The public areas are lovely too. The pool is great - never too busy - could always get a lounger. Pool bar good with good quality food - not too expensive either. The thing that sets this hotel apart are the staff - great service, good humour and real attention. Especially Francesco and Antonio in the restaurant and Giovanni in the bar and at the pool. They are a credit to the Hotel. We organised a little drinks reception in the hotel to meet and greet all our wedding guests before the wedding. We did this at the last minute but it was handled really well - pleased we had it there. A huge thank you to the Hotel Continental for making our very special trip extremely special. We would recommend the hotel without hesitation and if course Sorrento is completely magical too.
