We spent 4 nights here at the last leg of our Italy trip. Found the Hotel to be wonderful location, very nice, clean, big rooms with spectacular view of the Mediterranean and Mt. Vesuvius. The staff was tremendous. Free shuttles to a few restaurants, Donna Sophia which was excellent. I don't recall 2nd night restaurant on the water and the 3rd night we took their taxi service which was always very professional and very fair at 12 Euro over the local taxis that were double the cost. Walking distance to the town. Gabriella who has been with the hotel for 20+ years was most accommodating with Train tickets, tours, taxis, Restaurants and advice on our return drive to Rome. The outside lounging area was my favorite as it was much quieter than the balcony in the room which sits right over the street. Breakfast was plenty accommodating with choices of serveral pastries, yogurts, fruits, breads and meats

Room Tip: We were 2nd floor with Balcony, Breathtaking views

Charming hotel about a 1km walk (uphill) from the center of Sorrento. Room was large and clean, with a nice balcony overlooking Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Had a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and pot for boiling water. Breakfast was OK, limited snack menu and bar until 7:00pm...no full -serve restaurant. Could get to be a bit noisy on street side with honking, buses, motorcycles....

Room Tip: Road side rooms can be noisy

We stayed for 5 nights in the Miramare, great location with a beautiful view. The best thing about the hotel was the staff, extremely helpful and friendly. We used them to book resturants, tours and taxis. Massive thanks to the staff for being lovely and arranging everything for us. The hotel is 10 mins downhill to town, its a plesant walk. There is no pavement in one section out side the hotel but it's only a tiny stretch of road, we had no trouble at all. Most tours and some resturants will come and collect you in a car if you ask reception to arrange. I definitely recommend the beautiful Amalfi coach tour organised through reception - the tour guide Carmine was excellent and really made us love the area as much as he did!.
Excellent fresh breakfast which we really enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace with a delicious selection of good quality breads, brioches, jams, fruits etc.
Room decor is maybe a little dated but was exceptionally clean and the bathroom was modern. Wifi worked well in the room.

As listen to the song by Arianna and Pitbull, it reminds me of lovely time we had in Sorrento at the beginning of June' 13. The hotel is ideally and conveniently situated on a hill with most rooms opening to a garden overlooking the bay. The garden rooms have high ceilings so they are not claustrophic, but rather spacious. Our room had a kitchenette hidden in a cupboard. The bathrooms are also good size. However, the rooms need to be refurbished as the colors are dull and drawers got stuck most of the time. In addition, breakfast definitely needs to be enriched. In the summer sitting out on the terrace and enjoying breakfast or having a bottle of wine with friends in the evening is highly recommended. The hotel is within 10-15 minutes' walk to the city with a bus stop almost in front. We preferred to walk as the bus service is not very reliable and the walk downhill offers a lot of spots for taking pictures! Exiting the hotel, guests must be very careful since there is no sidewalk and they have to keep to the very right until they can cross the street. The people at the reception were very helpful in getting cabs and providing necessary information.

Room Tip: A garden room with a view definitely!

Our family of 4 were easily accommodated in the one large room. The room and bathroom were spotless but the colour scheme of bright olive green is a little dated. The views are spectacular, ours was of the ocean and Mt Vesuvius. The patio overlooked the road so it was a little noisy. Yes the hotel is on a blind corner so caution is advised when crossing the road, especially at night. The hotel is situated high on a slope but it is only a fifteen minute walk to town centre. Wi fi is tempremental. Easily accessible in the passages outside the door but often not working in the rooms. (I often met other guests in the hallway with ipad and phones experiencing the same difficulty.)The pool is small but very welcome in the middle of summer as beaches nearby require you to pay for entrance or sun beds. Giovanni and her staff are very welcoming and happy to recommend restaurants and places of interest. Breakfast consisted of pastries, fruit, yoghurt- nothing really exciting. We had to leave for a tour before breakfast one morning and were provided with breakfast packs( croissant, yoghurt and juice) to take away upon request. You can book tours through hotel but we booked through agency in the main square and managed to get a discount for the children. Overall a pleasant stay in a beautiful spot in Italy.
