We stayed at the Hotel from the 19th - 26th October and enjoyed ourselves immensly. From the minute we arrived the waiting staff could not do enough for you. Seventeen of us arrived on the same transfer quite late and the restaurant had been kept open for our arrival. A really nice touch compared to the usual plated meal wrapped in cling film.
The all inclusive runs from 10.00am to 12.00 midnight which is better than normal and the "snack lunch" is anything but. Meals outside of the salad and puddings are selected from a menu and cooked to order and I as a Vegetarian always had a proper (yes) choice that did not include fish for those that know what I mean.
The Hotel had a really friendly atmosphere and everybody appeared willing to discuss what they had done, where they had been and more importantly how they did it. This soon made you realise Amalfi, Capri, Pompeii, Vesuvius, Herculaneun etc are all do able on your own much cheaper than using the travel company tours.
The rooms are on the basic side but are well maintained and kept spotlessly clean, the TV we had was dated as someone mentioned in another review but if you need a flat screen TV to make you holiday in this part of the world then you should never had come to Sorento.
All in all we had a great time, and I suppose we could have been lucky, the people staying in the hotel were really friendly, we socialised together quite a bit of an evening and this helped make our holiday. This may not suit everyone and if you wanted to keep to yourselves there is plenty of room to do so.We also had great weather all week and for the time of year that was a bonus.
The hotel is a little out of town but this is covered more than adequately by the shuttle bus and the staff are polite, attentive and efficient.
We would return to the Hotel and without doubt will viist Sorrento again, we were even discussing how soon we could come back before we had left.

Room Tip: Trees opposite the front of the Hotel block what would be a fantastic view so don,t bother paying extra. Rooms on the back get sun most of the day and head to the roof for the last drops of late and early season sunshine

We stayed for one week 19/10 to 25/10 what brilliant staff each and every one of them, excellent food, comfy room. Location good a little the on the outskirts but a very good base. Exceptionally clean some have said it's dated but we would say it has character although the bar area and lounge furniture requires updating. We did not have a sea view and the people who had paid were given a refund as the view is very limited so do not get caught when booking.
We have read some reviews which are somewhat negative and accept everyone has an opinion otherwise what is the point of tripadvisor, we can say honestly this hotel and it's staff were exceptional.

Room Tip: Room and the back of the hotel are south facing so you get the sun all day and no traffic noise

Arrived 19th October 2012 for a week of perfect weather! 25C. All inclusive. All staff were very friendly. Waiter service excellent! Enjoyed the breakfast, lunch and evening menus. Twice had packed lunches (request at breakfast) - no problem. Courtesy bus to Sorrento centre - or 30 mins walk (no footpath for most of it - face on coming traffic). Nearest walk - turn left from hotel - walk 4 minutes to junction on right (church) and walk down to Roman Villa / fort remains. Free map from hotel reception. You can swim off rocks but not easy entry! Steep walk back up. Nearest beach - Marina di Puolo (good for a swim). Turn left - past garage on left then round sweeping bend (sea view to right). Below Hotel Dania sign on right - notice tiny glazed tile indicating 1000m to Puolo. Walk down pretty path below Olive Trees - before joining narrow road to lovely shingle beach. Takes 24 mins steep walk back to hotel! Room minor maintenance issues - loose toilet seat, popup waste needed adjustment. Old TV sound and picture quality poor but not too bothered about TV on holiday! Fridge useful for wine left from dinner and water bottles from bar! Used free bus to Sorrento and cheap return train (excellent service) to Pompei. Arriving at Pompei - unless you want a guided tour just buy tickets and then go to little Tourist kiosk on left (map and guide book free!) Other large kiosk sign says maps only supplied via tour guide (not true!) Took a boat trip to Capri. Return tickets with specified times but you can get an earlier boat back. Beautiful island. The Gardens of Augustus - (1 Euro entry) spectacular views (toilets nearby). 2 coffees 11 Euros!!
A lovely holiday - enhanced by the excellent attitude and service of all staff at Hotel Atlantic Palace. Best we have experienced across Europe!
Very good - would be an excellent rating but for the minor room issues. The bed was comfortable though (most important) and it was near end of season!

Room Tip: There is some traffic noise at front of hotel - on a bend and upcline. Engine revs. If you shut patio doors at night - need air con. or stuffy (Room 522 annexe block - air con display unit was broken - reported - not fixed). Rear room would be quieter but we had a stunning view of Vesuvio and bay of Naples!

My husband and i stayed in this hotel in september on all inclusive basis, all i can say is fab. fab, fab, Good food lovely waiting staff, friendly reception, bar staff exceptional. Gala night a must food was lovely. Pool area on the small side can get busy at times and pool can do with a bit of an update, but very clean. although a bit of a trek to town bus always available right outside, also courtesy bus put on by hotel, pre bookable day before. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone wishing to get around naples, sorrento, or amalfi coast region.

Room Tip: we faced the road but heard no traffic, quite good fun sitting on balcony watching crazt italian drivers.

Hubby and I stayed at the Atlantic Palace during the 8th and 19th October, booked through First Choice. The hotel is splendid. The room overlooked the front of the hotel on to quite a busy road, once the shutters are closed and the windows drawn, nothing can be heard. Our room was on the first floor. It was kept beautifully clean and the housekeepers always had a smile and a " Bon Journo " The location is just a 5 minute drive from Sorrento. Pasquale the driver of the hotel bus is always prepared to drop you off where you wish. We asked him to drop us off at the Hotel Ascot where just a short walk you can book day trips less than with the reps. This is called Jolly Savings. The food in the hotel, well even the most fussiest of eaters will find something. If there is something you fancy and its not on the menu, if they have .its yours. I had mushroom omlettes, they are wonderful. All of the waiting staff are so attnetive, nothing is too much. The drinks in the bar are plentiful. The swimming pool is very big and towels are handed out by Catello. We did three trips whilst we were there, Capri and Ana Capri.stunning. Pompeii is a must, i thought I wouldnt be very interesed in this but its a WOW factor. The Amalfi drive is stunning and a must. I have mentioned to the manager that a vending machine would be a good idea if you wanted crisps or peanuts with your evening beer. There is a shop local, out of the hotel and turn left, but watch out for the drivers !! And yes I would go back again and again.
