What a perfect place. We stayed at the nearby Hotel Prestige and this restaurant became a firm favourite for us and our two children. The food was fresh, delicious and inexpensive. The view over the Bay of Naples was amazing. And most of all we valued the excellent staff, most notably the genial Michele (hope I have spelt his name correctly). He was warm, helpful and friendly to us all. A real gentleman. We had so many good meals here that we did not eat a single one in the centre of Sorrento as we knew we would end up paying more and the food at Salvatore's could not be improved upon.

We'd read lots of reviews about this place and weren't at all disappointed. Just a few minutes, walk from the Hotel Prestige where we were staying this RestaurAnt offered us authentic and simple Italian fare at very reasonable prices. It's become a firm favourite during our stay here. Can't recommend it highly enough.

The façade to this restaurant isn't particularly inspiring but as they say 'Never judge a book by its cover'. The food is absolutely yummy and so cheap.
If you love your pizzas then you will certainly be in 'pizza heaven' here. There are 3 sizes available - try the grande if you dare! We only managed the smallest version which in our view was HUGE!
My husband had a very tasty seafood pasta - by far the best pasta dish during our 10 day stay in Sorrento.
If you are staying at Hotel Prestige we would suggest that you the skip the bar snack (frozen meal) offerings at the hotel which are awful. Pop along to Salvatore for their lunchtime menu and savour the superb views - Enjoy

Da Salvatore's doesn't look up too much and it's not recommended by the nearest hotel (Prestige) which prefers to push two others a bus ride away. But don't be fooled - it's an absolute gem. We ate there three nights out of seven whilst staying at the rather lovely afore-mentioned hotel and were knocked out each time by the quality of its food. It's inexpensive and the staff are friendly. With a location overlooking Sorrento what's not to like?
Every night around nine the place was packed, mainly with locals, always a good sign.
Huge pizzas, fish risotto and spaghetti with the most gorgeous tomatoes are amongst the daily delights. The desserts are delicious too. A lovely place to chill out after a hard day's sightseeing.

This trattoria was a 2 minute walk from Hotel Prestige. We ate here 4 times over 3 days (2 lunches and 2 dinners). The views over Sorrento were stunning and the food was delicious with lovely fresh ingredients. I would particularly recommend the pizza although this is only available in the evening after 7pm. Pasta is available all day and I would recommend the pasta with gorgonzola and speck (if you like a creamy sauce). The vino locale is extremely palatable and ridiculously cheap (only 5euros a bottle!). All in all a fantastic hidden jewel! The service was excellent too and value for money in a tourist area was unbeatable. Be aware, it doesn't look much from the outside but please don't be put off by that! True Italian hospitality at its best.
