“Does the job nicely”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2012

This hotel is in a great location, near all shops, restaurants, bars and town - but still quiet. Stayed there October "12. Room was comfortable and clean and so was the bathroom. No problems with shower either. We had stayed on half board basis and I thought the evening meals were enjoyable but did not particularly rate the breakfast. However, I did not go to Sorrento for breakfast and would use this hotel as a base again. Staff were lovely too. So for what you"ll pay it is good value and a great base to explore this lovely part of the world.

Room Tip: Back of hotel - floor 5 was fine. I did not mean to rate spa or fitness but unable to delete

We were a bit desperate for a room. Sorrento was pretty full.
This place was a bit expensive, for what we had. The room was right on the intersection - noisy most of the night. There were mostly elderly tour groups staying here. The breakfast was a bit "survival of the fittest". Not relaxing at all. Staff seemed a bit cranky at breakfast. Front desl staff were nice.Wi-fi didnt work in the rooms. Clean and well maintained. At the far western end of town.

Room Tip: Ask to see the room and dont take any that face the main road.

Hotel booked through Riviera Travel, from our experience it is only a three star Hotel, as such, firstly it is in a good location at one end of Sorrento within easy walking distance to the centre, shops, bars etc, the staff were very friendly and helpful at all times, the room was clean, the bed and pillows hard, decor dated and in need of refreshment, it was air conditioned, but the system was very inefficient, the bathroom also was tired, The most annoying point had to be the eating arrangements, the dining room was run Very efficiently by a guy called Franco, it had to be because when busy it was at capacity and struggled to cope, unfortunately this meant that at EVERY mealtime we were met by him at the door and shown to a table, the meal was always at a table shared with others, whilst quite sociable we felt that as a couple we would occasionally have preferred to have a table of our own in privacy, evening meals also felt quite rushed. Food was adequate and well served, but definitely only three star dining. I also found the pictures on this site experiencing a little artistic licence, as it looks like they were taken some time ago or have been enhanced. Most rooms are not in the terracotta painted villa in the pictures, but in an annex to the rear up a side street, as such they do offer a quiet location for sleeping off the main street.

There is much to commend this family run hotel, location offers easy access to Sorrnto town center which is lovely, cleanliness of rooms, and by and large perfectly acceptable food, although during our stay the dining room was fully stretched to its limits and very noisy. On the downside, its certainly not worth paying extra for a full sea facing room with balcony. In my experience these are situated in the oldest part of the hotel and lack double glazing which means that to go with the sea view you also get the interminable noise of traffic, thousands of Italian scooters and mopeds can spoil a good nights rest. Some other rooms, like the one we were moved to offer a quiter option, which after a days sight seeing is just what you need. The hotel needs to "freshen up" particularly the bedrooms and pool bar area which offers cheap plastic tables and chairs in an otherwise not unpleasant spot to enjoy a drink.
The staff are great, very friendly (but I find what you give out you get back), and remembering this is after all a 3* hotel, our stay was very enjoyable.

Room Tip: Dont pay extra for the sea view/balcony

Stayed at this hotel for a week and was very happy except for a few minor problems. The hotel was very clean and bright and chambermaid service was excellent.
The rooms themselves could do with a bit of maintenance(sockets not working and loose lights.
The staff were very friendly and helpful also the restaurant staff were fast and organise, the food was OK but some days better than others.
On the whole a very nice hotel.

Room Tip: A room with a balcony on the side is the quieter and has great views of the Bay of Naples and the...

It was pretty cheap and delivered a solid 3-star performance. The staff at reception were über helpful. Great location to walk around the city and short walk to the harbour where we had the best seafood pasta anywhere in Italy, no less. Average but plentiful buffet breakfast where we met lots of older local Italians on holidays there. Beware of the pool parties kippers - strictly for the blue hair set.

have just returned from holiday with Riviera Travel to Sorrento which was our first time with this company. the organised trips and the weather were wonderful but the whole trip was spoilt by the hotel.
this hotel is not my idea of a 3 *** hotel our party had booked 3 single rooms and paid the supplement but received three rooms of varying quality from 1* to 3***. my son had a tiny room with a single bed which was unsuitable for a lad who the staff could see was 6' 3" so he had to be moved. The room for the second member of our party had a broken toilet and extractor fan in the bathroom which fell out when it was first switched on so they had to be moved to a different room and finally the shower in my room had to be repaired as the tray filled up rapidly with water but did not drain properly so i had to stop showering half way through to let it drain before continuing.
I would never go to this hotel again and could not recommend it to anyone.other members of this coach trip also had bad experience with the quality of their rooms
