“4*? Not so sure!”
Reviewed February 25, 2014

Pros : The views and common areas are lovely. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
Cons: The rooms are very dated and old.In desperate need of an update. No wardrobes - just poles to hang your clothes. The safe was just big enough to fit passports. The shower was beyond pathetic and there were ants in the room. Noise levels not conjusive to any kind of a good nights sleep.
Location was fantastic for the views but that also meant driving up and down a slopy hill every day and night to get into Sorrento - although they did offer an hourly shuttle service.Parking at the hotel can only be described as treacherous!! Dread to think what its like in the summer!

Room Tip: Avoid the second floor - although the rooms were nicer, we moved to the 4th to get some sleep.

An extremely nice hotel in its common parts, certainly meriting its 4-star status. But beware if you book with Riviera Travel, as we did. We were given rooms on the fourth floor which were cramped under the eves, with hardly room to open our suitcases; the beds were hard, the single wardrobe half-height (you had to bend down to access it), and to look out of the window you had to go up a short flight of stairs. The room was like a poor B & B, certainly not the 4-star one we had paid for. Our friends' room was next door and identical. At our request the hotel moved us to good rooms on the 1st floor, but only after two nights out of seven. Not good enough, Riviera!

Room Tip: Keep away from the 4th floor!

Sorrento's crows nest hotel, an hour & a half away from Naples airport by direct bus and then by Aminta shuttle bus for 15 minutes, if on time...... driven by the most amusingly co-operative driver Saturno who'll even sing for you!!

PROS : Excellent views, very good service in the restaurant, ALL staff from the Duty managers to the Front desk, the room service, bar, the friendliness ( nothing seems to be any trouble to arrange, check, inform ), multi-lingual skills. Quite central for access to other interesting points, the Port, shopping area. Food quality is good if boringly repetitive, but is compensated by the ambience and breath taking views after a glass or two of fairly acceptable house wine!! We as seventy plus guests were privileged to have been treated exceptionally well with an upgrade room and celebratory cake for my wife's 70th birthday. Menu Prices are very acceptably comfortable. Free wi-Fi is a boon.

CONS: Room walls are quite thin and noise carries through the ceiling, side walls and despite good double glazing road noise is fairly audible. Do bring the noise factor if disturbing, to the notice of senior management. The biggest drawback is that like so many hotels in the vicinity, there is no Disabled Access anywhere. One has to carry one's own luggage up the steep set of stairs to and from the lobby in the reception area. One very narrow lift is hardly adequate for the guest traffic.

Room Tip: Try to remain on the main building and on the highest floor, corners are ideal, but the Annexe can b...

This is a large hotel that has a commanding position on the mountain above Sorrento. It is clean and roomy. Very comfortable. The meals were very good and the staff were always very helpful. It has limited parking and the only downside is that to get luggage from your car you have to carry it up the steep front steps. But this is a very minor irritation. In every other respect this hotel is a grand experience.
Whilst it is out of town it has a very frequent and timely free shuttle bus.

Room Tip: Ask for a window on the higher levels with a view over the Bay.

The hotel ambience and the view are idyllic!Everything been amazing! All the staff welcoming, friendly and helpful. You can easily reach the city center with the hotel bus, that's a very short drive way and the return is every hour
If you wanna try something different, that's the Lounge bar and i highly recommend it!Here you can relax enjoying the beautifull view of Amalfi coast, have some good music and choose from a large variety of drinks and cocktails. That's my second holiday with my family and we've been very happy with our choice.

Room standards are excellent but you need to book early to get the better rooms on the lower floors. Good location but access to the sea front and shops is 20 to 30 minute walk, depending on your fitness; or a short bus ride. Bus stop is across the road from the main entrance to the hotel.
Excellent hotel and staff. Excellent restaurant for all meals and waiter service!

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on the lower floors. There is an annexe a short walk through the gardens for additiona...

A nice place to stay, went with Riviera travel for the 2nd year running and although the guide and itineray were not great the food, service and fellow travellers made up for it. Had a great time and the bar staff looked after us very well.

Room Tip: Sea view with a balony worth paying extra for
