Wow, what a place this is. From the moment we arrived we were looked after even when we arrived at 11pm. Matteo and his team waited up to feed us after our journey. We liked our room when we arrived but we had hoped for an upgrade as we were on our honeymoon. It turns out that Thomson forgot to tell them we were on our honeymoon!!!! Salvatore on reception pulled out all the stops to try to sort an upgrade for us which he did by the fourth night of our 14 night stay so we were made up as we got an even better view and the first view was amazing enough. Sadly there were no suites available but never mind - our room 905 was really lovely.

The food in the terrace bar was great - we sometimes swapped dinner for lunch so that we could go out in the evening. The food was excellent in the dining room and there was always lots of choice. Breakfast was pretty good too. Every member of staff was a credit to the hotel as they worked so hard to make sure we had a nice time. We were sad to leave The Bristol as we just loved it.

The pool area and roof terrace were spectacular. I wouldn't recommend you bring kids here, there is nothing there for them and no other kids to play with. Take them somewhere with a kids club. The hotel was mainly older English and Irish couples and honeymooners which we were more than happy with.

We would like to thank all of the staff at the Bristol hotel as together they make this the most wonderful place to stay. Salvatore on reception is fantastic, nothing is too much trouble - the other reception staff are also fantastic. Matteo and his dream team in the restaurant treated us like royalty. Every member of staff spoke to us at every opportunity from the waiters to the cleaning and maintenance staff. What a place!

We really loved Sorrento as well. The hotel is ideally situated just a few minutes walk. There are lots of nice bars in town, we went while the world cup was on so went to English Inn and also Monna Lisa mostly. The food in the restaurant was better than eating out we found. It is worth going to the marina grande and sampling the little restaurant owned by the fishermen as the fish is very fresh as you'd expect.

Amazing place, amazing honeymoon. Thank you

Room Tip: Definitely get a balcony room.

This was a package tour hotel booked through Thomson Holidays.
I can't rate this hotel highly enough. Even although we arrived after 11 o'clock at night, we were immediately routed by reception to the restaurant where a 3 course meal was awaiting us.
This is a hotel which appeared to attract British & Irish couples with only a few children in attendance,
Staff all exceptionally friendly, speaking excellent English.
Evening meal (we were staying on a half board basis) was varied every night and was silver service.
Hotel works on a cashless basis - room number asked for on every purchase and paid for at the end of the holiday.
Hotel enjoys an ideal location - only a 5 minute walk to the town centre - whilst at the same time enjoying tremendous views of the Bay from its hill top location.
Already planning to return in April.

Room Tip: Rooms with balcony and sea view probably worth the extra although you may find that you spend little...

and dinner was excellent.
The hotel consists of three buildings all connected, and countless lifts. The first task is to find your room, ours was on the 9th. floor, two lifts in different buildings and a long walk! It's rumoured that people have gone looking for their rooms and never been seen again! Our room was functional and had a comfortable 6 foot wide bed everything was kept immaculately clean by very friendly and efficient staff.
Our balcony was small and separated from others by railings. Immediately below us were 4 Junior suites again all separated by railings. No privacy anywhere then!
However on the plus side the view from the balcony of Vesuvius and Sorrento was truly magnificent.
We were surprised at our first breakfast, it was served on a tea plate( No room for a 'full English'!)
We later found that we could top this up from the limited buffet. However the food quality and the service in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was excellent.
The pool area and the relaxation area were fine, but if you visit to relax in the gardens make sure you use mosquito repellent.
The town centre is a ten minute walk away where you can buy a nice bottle of Chianto Classico for 7 euros!
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

Room Tip: Go for a high floor, they're quiet. Take your own supply of coffee and tea bags.

Our first "proper" hotel experience with two teenagers, we requested two adjoining rooms, which were lovely and had amazing views out over the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. Although on a busy road out of Sorrento, the noise in the room once the windows were closed (to activate the air conditioning) was minimal. We were on the third floor at the end of the corridor so our rooms did not have much hotel noise to bother us. The food is good, plenty to fill two hungry teenagers, and the 5 min walk down into Sorrento is easy, we walked down most evenings to enjoy the ambience. The pool is nice and clean, with plenty of sunbeds, although several are in shade by midday, so get to the pool early! Even the prices of the snacks and drinks were not too bad considering you are buying them in the hotel. There are lots of little shops nearby to buy drinks etc if you want. All the staff in the restaurant and behind reception were friendly and helpful. All in all, a lovely hotel which we would thoroughly recommend.

Room Tip: Rooms on the lower floors (5 and below) will be quieter as the bar and restaurant are on the 7th flo...

We had a pleasant seven days at the Hotel Bristol.

The hotel is maintained to a very high standard, clean, well decorated and pleasant. The pool area had ample sun-beds and relatively quiet with the occasional screaming child but nonetheless fairly pleasant.

The restaurant food is good but not exceptional, there is little warm food to cater for those who love the full English breakfast, the dinner menus are rather plain but the food is well presented. The bar food is nothing special various burgers and sandwiches but that's what you should expect at a bar.

The hotel is situated directly on the main road out of Sorrento and customers should be aware of the traffic noise especially on the lower floors it does get quieter the higher you go but the views from all floors are exceptional.

There is a short 10 minute walk to the town centre and care should be taken as the footpath is very narrow and the Italian traffic manic but fun to watch.

We decided we would get married in Italy about a year ago. After some research we found the Bristol Hotel. While we did have a wedding planner, nothing could have prepared us for how amazing this hotel actually is.
Firstly, the rooms were quite awesome. We had a junior suite which was an extremely large room with its own balcony and sitting room area. Our family and friends had other sea view rooms which were also quite spacious and very clean with a modern decor.
The pool area is large and the water was always very warm. There is a great terrace on the roof of the hotel with stunning views of the bay of Naples.
In terms of the clientele, the vast majority of people are couples and meddle aged and up who are looking for a very relaxing and quiet stay.
Throughout our entire stay, we were provided with the highest quality of service by all the members of the staff. Attentive, professional and genuinely friendly, you can tell the individuals who work there care about their hotel. It has a family feel which is especially surprising considering the size of the hotel. Throughout, we were given courtesy and guidance by all members of the staff who made you feel like our wedding was the most special wedding they would ever host.
Giancarlo, the main man, spoke with us the day before and provided reassurance as to how the wedding would be dealt with. He also made suggestions to our menu and gave us the option of trying alternatives to what we had selected for the meal. Each alternative he suggested we ended up putting on our wedding menu as it was clearly the better option.
We have read here that there was an awkwardness about allowing bridesmaids and wedding party people to visit in advance of the wedding. We have to say we didn't experience that whatsoever and there were not any difficulties with friends visiting throughout the stay.
Giovanni, the head chef, used local ingredients that were in season to make some of the best food we have ever had. Everyone commented on how excellent the food was for our wedding from the canapés right up to the traditional Italian wedding cake.
Even aside from our wedding menu, the hotel staff at dinners and breakfasts were very warm and considerate. The options for dinner always changed and there was something every evening for everyone, including the vegetarians in our family who were unusually spoiled for choice.
Upon leaving, there was a pang of sadness as this hotel had created such wonderful memories for us and our guests. Salvatore, Ercole, Matteo, Giancarlo and everyone else who worked there provided a service unlike we have seen anywhere else. We are already looking at our return next year. Quite simply, this will be the best hotel you will ever ever stay in.

Room Tip: Not on the first few floors and sea view.

Wow, what a fabulous Hotel ! If I'm ever lucky enough to go back to Sorrento I can't think of staying anywhere but here ! The location is perfect, overlooking Sorrento, the Bay of Naples and looking out to Mount Vesuvius. I'd e-mailed the hotel beforehand to ask if they could give us a nice room as we were there to celebrate my Mum's "special" birthday. They couldn't have been nicer. We got a fabulous room with a view we'd never tire of......photos of that view taken daily lol. The staff were so courteous, pleasant & friendly, couldn't do enough for you. The food was beautiful, always an excellent menu.
Top Tip.........if going in April DON'T go in the pool........bit's of me were numb (bits that should NEVER be that numb!) Freezing is an understatement.
Thanks to all at the Bristol Hotel. Loved every minute of it !
