My husband and I stayed at this hotel with our three daughters for ten days. From the second we arrived to the second we left the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The reception staff were very helpful, the staff in the restaurants and bars were incredibly friendly and obliging. Upon arrival we discovered that we had been upgraded- my husband and I were given a suite and our daughters had a superior room. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The girls' room was on the side of the building with a partial sea view and ours was situated at the front. The one down side is that our room was quite noisy because of the road at the front but, as we had been upgraded we obviously felt as though we could not complain! also when the shutter was down it did block out a lot of the noise, although the next time we return I will request rooms at the back of the hotel.
Breakfast each morning was lovely and the omelette station was a total hit with two of our daughters. We ate in the restaurant on four of the nights and the food was absolutely beautiful, the service was fabulous and the wine list extensive. There was also at least one or two vegetarian options for our eldest daughter. We had only booked on a bread and breakfast basis as we didn't realise that the meal voucher could be used at lunch time or in the evening and we hadn't wanted to be tied to eating at the hotel each night. On our next visit we will definitely book on a half board basis as the food at lunch time was very nice but did prove expensive when feeding five people each day.
In terms of location it was absolutely second to none. The views from the back of the hotel were truly breathtaking both day and night. The port, Mount Versuvius and the sea with it's rugged coast line were magical whether bathed in sunlight or during the magnificent sunsets. The centre of Sorrento was a very east five minute walk away and the train station (which we used to get to Pompeii) was less than five minutes away.
The grounds of the hotel were pristine and there were so many areas to sit, whether you wanted the sun or the shade, it never felt busy. Our daughters thought the tunnels down to the beach were an absolute novelty (on the way down not on the way back up!) There is, thankfully, a lift down to the sunbathing deck and jetty.
Our daughters have already asked when we can return, and my reply was that if I could I would return tomorrow.
