Location Ideal, right in the centre very close to the main square and only a few hundred yards to the train station
Staff were brilliant and could not have been more helpful or friendly
the terrace was a great place to relax at the end of your day touring around or to people watch as they went by below
Room our room was fine with French doors on to little balcony .Beds were comfortable enough for us although the pillows were hard and thin, but to be fair you only use the rooms for sleeping and they were cleaned daily
Breakfast was continental only and we thought a little basic with a machine for hot drinks cheese or ham slices and the normal selection of breads etc but overall sufficient to start the day
would we go back. we were a group of ten and all of us loved it

Room Tip: Our group had 5 rooms all of us were happy with them

Location was reason for our choice, the hotel is clean but the rooms had no natural light as no window !
The beds were very very hard and covers were very old and synthetic
The hotel is clean but overall we would not revisit as it was verging on youth hostel
And the breakfast was really poor particularly as the owners wife was a semi finalist in Italy master chef
Coffee was luke warm from a machine and very poor ! Plastic cheese and ham and very poor quality bread products and cheap jam and butter just make you wonder how they could offer such second rate items
Such a shame as it would not have been difficult to improve and deliver a far superior experience
Staff were very helpful but we would not be able to sleep in those beds again

The Hotel del Corso is right by the main square making it incredibly well positioned for all that Sorrento has to offer. It is probably less than a ten minute walk from the train station and is very easy to find.

The hotel itself was great; it has a beautiful roof terrace where you can sit and have breakfast in the morning or a beer later on. The staff are very friendly and helpful and we felt that they were very accommodating. The room itself was unexpected (in a good way) as it was like a self contained little apartment with a mezzanine area which had a couch and a TV. There was also a little cooking area and lots of great little design features. The room itself overlooked onto the road which was a great bonus when a parade of Fiat 500 from the ages trundled past. Even though we were so close to the main square it wasn't too noisy.

We were extremely pleased with the whole experience.

Stayed here last weekend for 3 nights and had a fine time. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, both before our stay with email enquiries and when we were there. Every one also spoke good English which put my few poorly spoken Italian phrases to shame!

Location is brilliant. Easy to find after a 5-10 minute walk from Sorrento train station and right in the middle of the action.

Our room was on the 2nd floor and overlooking a busy pedestrian shopping street so no fancy scenery view but we quite liked the hustle and bustle and liveliness of it. The balcony window also had double doors to block out the light and noise so despite the amount of people it wasn't too bad when it was time to collapse into bed. Though if you are a light sleeper perhaps take some ear plugs!

The room itself was fairly simple with a very large double bed, mirror and plenty of storage space. There was also a safe though we didn't bother using it. The en-suite was clean and modern with a large shower and not sure else what you can say about a bathroom other than everything worked! So not the fanciest of rooms but excellent as a base for your adventures around Sorrento and the surrounding area.

Breakfast was also included and the only time food was available. Though simple there was a fair amount of variety from cereal to croissants to toast to ham and cheese.... And you could keep going back for more which is always good. This was served by a balcony area at the front of the hotel overlooking another lively street which was pleasant in the morning sun.

All in all we thought it was a brilliant hotel and will recommend it to friends and family :)

This hotel is right in the middle of Sorrento. They are extreemly accomodating and friendly. Great English. It is above some stores on the 2nd floor, but there is a lift to get there. You can walk 5 minutes from the train station. Breakfast is very nice. You can all ways depend on anything Rick Steves says is good and this was no exception.

Room Tip: There was a restaurant, Foreigners Club, open all day long so you do not have to wait until 7 to eat...

Great find , stayed 4 nights , arrived in Sorrento on Thursday before Good Friday , lucky to get room , in this case a small apartment (1st floor) that over looked street , we were able to watch the white robed " la processione del Christo Morto " from our window at 3am , without the crowds. And again the black robed procession later that night. Breakfast was filling , staff were very helpful. Family owned business 40 years. This was our base and we visited Amalfi , and Capri from here.
