Cute tour, 6 euros, see the sites of Sorrento. A great little city with lots of delicious foods and regional fare!

These City sight seeing tours i find are good value and give a good all round view of area's you might not have time to see with the bi lingual info about history and culture a good way to pass two hours
Bit of a problem on upper deck as bus passes through different suberbs look out for overgrown trees on paths that are a hazard to your eyesight and can be very dangerous to passengers as the rods are narrow and bus hugs the kerb

Open top bus tour of Sorrento and the Sorrentine peninsula and it was excellent! The tour starts at the bus station in Sorrento and takes you through lesser visited parts of the town and then out into the countryside that is not usually seen. A wonderful way to pass a couple of hours and the recorded commentary is very interesting adding another layer to what the eyes see. At one stop (the bus stays long enough for everyone to get off to take photos before it moves on) the Isle of Capri looks close enough to touch. It's a hop on, hop off service so if there's any place takes your fancy you can get off and get back on the next bus a couple of hours later. A couple from our hotel got off at St Agata and walked back to Sorrento. They said that was scary so perhaps not such a good idea but the bus tour certainly is and well worth the €12 cost (or £9 if ticket bought in advance in the UK via the website)

I rarely go on these as they don't often represent good value. This is however an interesting trip around areas you would be unlikely to see otherwise. The views are really lovely, and there are a few places to stop off. We got off at Sant Agata Sui Due Golfi, and walked up the hill to the monastery at the top. There are lovely views over the bay - the tower where you can see all the way around wasn't open but it's still worth the trip. We then had lunch at La Stuzzichino just off the main square, lovely food and good value, before catching the next bus.

Sit on the side opposite the stairs, the right hand side when you are sitting facing the front of the bus. Due to the route the best views are from that side by a long way. Having made that mistake, and with a couple of hours to kill, we stayed on board and went to the front for the last trip of the day. Well worth it, the light in the late afternoon made Capri look like it was floating on diamonds. Unbelievable.

I listened to the commentary for a bit, it was quite interesting but frankly not as interesting as the view. Well worth the 12 Euros.

Hmmm...we have always avoided thise buses but decided to give it a go after reading reviews on here!
Tickets were 12€ each for a 100 minute drive. this included a much aporeciated 5 min stop in a small town to allow us to stretch our legs and buy iced water and frozen granitas foe the second part!
The tour was great- good safe driving and took us around some beautiful places and with amazing sights and views. we took the 1.30 bus and decided to stay on for the complete route. The only downside was that because of the extreme heat the hard plastic open deck chairs were very hot and painful to sit on initially. We all had sweaty backsides afterwards too! Sorry for being graphic but worth knowing so you can think about your colour choice before you go! ( maybe pack a small handtowel to sit on?!)
I didnt listen to the music and commentary as i personally find the cheap headphones uncomfortable- i could still hear it though through my friends!
All in all a great way to check out the local area then use the local SITA buses to go back to explore places that caught your eye (7.20€) for a whole day ticket!
