Had read about these guys on Trip Advisor prior to our trip and found ourselves near their office on our first day in Sorrento so went in to see if they had anything available over the next few days. They were really helpful, explained which boats we could hire without a nautical licence and roughly how far we could expect to travel and what they had available. We opted for a Predator 540 which was 150 euros for the day (9.30-6) plus fuel and it was well worth it. We took a picnic as each boat has an icebox - you can even buy a bag of ice from the office when you pick your boat up. Some basic instruction from one of their staff and we were away - we live on the Norfolk Broads and have taken day boats out before, but never on the open sea - these boats are in immaculate condition and it was very easy to handle. We went to Positano for a quick visit, then across the open water to Capri where it was quite choppy on that particular day but good fun. We moored and had a swim and a sunbathe and then a nice gentle ride back to Sorrento. There was plenty of time to do all this and we enjoyed it so much we thought we might do it again but they didn't have anything available on our remaining 2 days. We will definitely do this again when we return to Sorrento and with this company - they are very professional and friendly and helpful with it and we can't stop talking about what a fab day we had. Thanks Nautica sic sic!

We took our trip at the end of June. I reserved the boat a few weeks prior. I rented the Gammone 680. It's an 18' (approx.) zodiac with a 115 hp outboard. The boat is in tip top shape, and the no shoe rule is a testament to the care they take of them. Just keep in mind that to rent anything above 40 hp requires a license for self piloting. As far as I'm concerned, this is the only way to see Capri and the Sorrento/Amalfi coast. Stop when you want, go when you want. Ferries are for cattle. Just as a tip, if you want a memorable tour of Capri, rent a scooter for 2 hours for 25 Euro, and forget about the overpriced taxi's and crowded busses. Also, you can get on a blue grotto tour boat right off of the nautica sic sic rental boat, no need to go ashore just for that. Anyway, They take you into the middle of marina piccolo, make sure you know what you're doing, and off you go. The whole day cost less than $350.00, and that was with fuel. Most chartered boat tours start at 350-450 per person for a 6 hour excursion. I cannot imagine my trip without the fine people over at Nautica Sic Sic, and more importantly, thier boat.

We recently returned from our trip to Sorrento where we pre booked a Gommone 540 from Nautic Sic Sic. We chose that specific boat as this is the only boat in the fleet that does not require a nautical license and since there were just 2 of us it was perfect. I would also like to add that the Gommone 540 felt large enough to take out to sea and the engine had plenty of power when required. We took with us a packed lunch for the day along with plenty of water and the people at Nautic provided us with a cool box along with a pack of ice for 3 euro’s per bag. We were also given a map with areas where we could stop and some points of interest.

The boat was really simple to drive with a large steering wheel and a leaver that when pushed up went faster the higher it was raised. There was also an anchor at the front of the boat when you wanted to stop off and relax or want a swim. The Gommone 540 does not have a canopy which means you can get quite hot as there is no shade however when driving the boat there is a nice sea breeze which kept me cool when driving. It was great being our own skipper stopping off where we wanted and making up our own route. We ended up heading around the Amalfi coats to Positano which we parked up with some assistance from the locals there who look after your boat for 10 euro’s. We were going to visit Capri on the way back but since we visited that the day before we left it and just had fun in the boat and general relaxing.

We weren’t going particularly fast on the boat throughout the day so only used 39 euro’s in petrol which was a nice surprise.

This was the 3rd time we've hired boats from here.

The 1st was a 40' powerboat with a skipper who took us around Capri, off to Marina del Cantone for lunch, on to Positano and back to Sorrento for the evening. Great day out.

Since then we have hired a small 7m boat to take out ourselves for the day which was great fun and will become a regular event when we are in Sorrento.

The staff are all very helpful and knowledgeable regarding where to go and we really enjoy our days riding the waves.

Check what the fuel is likely to cost on your return to avoid any surprises, although the smaller boats seem to use 40-50 euros in the day the larger vessels seem to get through 300-400 euros!

Four of us rented a predator 540 RIB with skipper for the day. It could not have been better.

They brought the boat to us at the Marina Grande , where we were staying, when requested
- perfect because my daughter has chronic fatigue and would have had difficulties getting to the Port.

We had a leisurely cruise around the coast to Positano, and then around the island of Capri, with stops in both those places, and plenty of additional stops to cool off in the water.

Our skipper, Luigi was superb. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Thank you Luigi and Luciana for arranging everything.
