“Great Ambience, Great Service”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

Located right on the marina; watch the sun go down over a cool drink;the food was excellent (and so was the wine we guess selected), and the service was first-class. The piece de resistance though is the free shuttle bus to take you back up the hill to the main piazza on conclusion of your meal

“Friendly staff, great food, lovely location”
Reviewed July 8, 2013 via mobile

Just arrived back from a week in Sorrento, which was made even more memorable by the fantastic staff at Ristorante Ruccio. My partner and I were lucky enough to find this restaurant on our second evening, and ate here a total of 3 nights.

The restaurant is located right on the harbour front of Marina Pic cola, providing lovely view of the harbour and Vesuvius, away from the noise and bustle of the main town. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and happy to reserve tables by the sea front if you ask.

There is a great selection of food; sea food, pasta, pizza and meat dishes. Both myself and my partner had a different meal each of the 3 nights and were never disappointed. The only problem was we never left room for dessert!

There is a small cover charge of about 1 euro per person, but we felt this was more than justified and were happy to tip on top of this. If you wish to be collected from your hotel, a minibus will come and collect you, and drop you back of at your hotel or back in the main town. Before the meal, bruchettas are provided on the house, and whenever the basket of complimentary bread runs out it is replaced with more. When the bill comes, it arrives with a glass of limoncello each. With all this, and the great service and atmosphere, I have no complaint over the small cover charge.

The staff at Ristorante Ruccio really helped make our holiday great, and it was with sadness we left on our last evening. Thanks to all of you, especially Boris, Sonny and Aniello, for making our evenings with you unforgettable.

“Definetly not the best place in town”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

Was there only once but the antipasto Ruccio did not correspond the expectation (and price).
We had a pizza and a spaghetti alle vongole and it was ok but not more than that.
Waiters are fiendly but as I ordered the second glass of wine I had to wait, wait, wait and wait.
So my personal choice is: take your time and go to marina grande.

“Food disappointing but good service”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

First impressions were good as we were picked up from our hotel and dropped off at the restaurant. All the waiters were very welcoming and sat us both at a table right next to the waterside. Then then the food came... the bread was slightly stale so this was not a good start to the meal. The main courses were even worse. I had mixed grilled fish with seasonal vegetables. The swordfish was awful, extremely overcooked which meant it was very dry. I expected the fish to be good being a restaurant based right down at the port. The pizza my boyfriend ordered was tasteless...he remarked 'I have had better pizzas in pizza express in the uk', that says it all really. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

“Warm welcome, good service and excellent food in lovely surroundings”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Ruccio's is a little off the beaten track being down by the harbour in Sorrento. However, if you book, they will send a car to pick you up and drop you off and it's well worth the trip. I went with a friend and we ended up returning over and over as the food, staff and general ambience were so good. As 2 single females, we were not hassled in any way which made a thoroughly pleasant change. I would highly recommend a visit!
