We stayed at La Piazzetta for 3 nights starting August 25, the location is great just off Piazza Tasso and a short walk to everything(although that walk may be steep of you are going to the Marina Grande or Marina Piccolla. The was very spacious and we really enjoyed being able to spread out a bit after several other locations in Italy were basic hotel rooms. The kitchenette did allow us to make a meal one evening and have breakfast each day, but you had to be creative as there was not really a saute or frying pan in the place. A couple of drawbacks we found: staying right on Piazza San Francisco the sound proofing was not good at all and on the weekends there is noise all night long, the second issue is because the bedroom is elevated in the loft, even with the ac on the lowest setting it did not totally cool the upper area but the downstairs was quite nice -wish the bed was down there. All in all - it was a good location for a stay in Sorrento if you did not need jaw dropping views or a full service hotel but preferred an apartment like setting, great to be able to walk everywhere in the city and to the train station to go to Pompeii, but a bit noisy at night for a good sleep.

My husband and I have just spent 5 days holiday in the green apartment (with a spiral staircase). This unit is perfect for 2 people and it has a small cooking corner with every necessity (although they could add a toaster). The balcony opens to a courtyard, so there's no panoramic view, but this didn't really matter for us, because the location of the guest house is right in the center of the town-we just had to step out and there were all the nice places to sit and have drink with views over the bay. To conclude I would like to say special thanks to Valentina, the girl at the desk-she was really friendly, helpful and smiling!

We stayed 10 nights at La Piazetta in Sorrento and we really wished we could have stayed longer. After a bad experience in Capri, getting to La Piazetta was like returning home, that's how comfortable we felt. Valentina was a wonderful host and nothing was too much for her including booking us a wonderful dinner at Marameo Beach for the St. Anne's Feast Day. We stayed in the Red Apartment which was enormous, the bedroom had a good size (King I think) bed as well as a single bed and the lounge/kitchen/dining area had a double sofa bed. The kitchenette was more than usable, we had breakfast almost every morning in the apartment as well as cooking our own dinner when we had been out all day. The location could not have been any better, very near the lift/steps down to the beaches and marina and also easy walking distance to the train station.
We would recommend anyone staying at La Piazetta, from singles to families.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Red Room which didn't have a balcony but also didn't have a mezzanine, it was all on one floor.

This place was incredible. The rooms are very modern and spacious. We stayed in the blue room and had a huge balcony patio over looking the piazza. Their are also great little touches like beach towels. The staff was great and helped book train tickets for us and printed them. The location is close to the beach and all the great restaurants and shops.

We have just returned from our first trip to Sorrento and booked La Piazzetta because of the reviews on Trip Advisor. We stayed in Room 1 the blue apartment with balcony. The balcony looked over the Plaza San Antonio (the patron saint of Sorrento) the apartments were less than a 5 minute walk to the Piazza Tasso (the centre of the resort) and about 10 minutes walk to the train station.

The apartments were very spacious and had steps (as described by other reviewers) up to the bed upstairs. The sofa also turned into a bed.

The room had ample storage space and hangers in the wardrobe and drawers. The bathroom had some complementary toiletries and tissues and the fridge had two bottles of water in on arrival. We also were very kindly given a complementary bottle of Limoncello and a small bottle of prosecco on arrival which was a lovely touch. Also on arrival a map of the resort, and ferry times to Capri, Amalfi and train times to Naples were also given which came in useful.

The air conditioning in the room worked very well, and could be controlled individually which was great, especially because of the gorgeous weather we had.

Staff at the apartments were always friendly and offered advice as and when needed.

I would recommend these apartments to all, the only point I would make, as previous reviewers have stated, it would be a great struggle to elders as there are quiet a few steps both up to the guest house and within the apartment to the bed.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 1, the blue apartment with a private balcony, it was lovely.
