“Outstanding in every way!”

We can't begin to describe how wonderful the stay at Hotel Au Relais Rivoli in Sorrento was. Tucked away in a little pedestrian street right off beautiful San Antonino Square, this little abbey has been totally refurbished with glass stairs and elevator in a rustic stone lobby and stairwell. The location is perfect - a combination of a quiet lane with a half-block access to shopping, restaurants and transportation. The ample-sized, modern quad room had a cozy king bed with a separate bedroom w/ 2 twins for our children, a fridge and breakfast table. It also had a view of the quaint shopping alley below and a lovely bathroom . The delightful breakfast was served on the top floor diningroom, but we were also allowed to be served on the little outside deck. The staff was as helpful as they could be. Sorrento is the perfect home base for the Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, Napoli and Capri. Can't wait to return to Au Relais Rivoli.

This hotel is a great value and it is in a perfect location for enjoying Sorrento. It is on a pedestrian alley 1/2 block off of square San Antonio. We booked a quad room which was large enough for 2 adults and 2 grown children to have plenty of space without tripping over our stuff. There was a dining table that seated 6 people, 1 double bed and two twin beds. The shower stall was small and didn't have any shelving for toiletries. The WIFI worked great and was fast, allowing us to catch up on email and post photos of the trip for family to see. Breakfast consisted of a large spread of pastries, cheese, and some lunchmeat. Coffee and juice was also available. We had driven ourselves to Sorrento so we used their valet parking service since you can't drive to the hotel door. That service was quick and efficient and we had no problems at all with it.

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights, and used it as our base to explore the Amalfi Coast.

The hotel is clean, modern and right where you want to be in the heart of Sorrento. Walking out the door you are in the middle of the pedestrian only old-town area of Sorrento, with enough shops and restaurants to satisfy any of your needs.

The train and bus station is a short walk (any more than 6 minutes and you obviously stopped for gelato on the way...), and the marina is a quick elevator ride off the piazza that is less than 2 minutes away.

The front desk staff are friendly and helpful, and eager to assist you in any way they can (and their English is awesome, so no worries there....)

Would highly recommend this hotel for both the price and the location.

I travelled with my husband and 4 other couples to Sorrento to watch the first 3 stages of the Giro d'Italia. Great hotel to base ourselves from, clean rooms and friendly staff. A superb location within a couple of minutes walk to a number of bars and restaurants, the one just around the corner being a particular favourite. We had a family room that was very spacious and whilst the furnishings were fairly basic it was very comfortable. Breakfast OK and sufficient for the weekend. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Spacious family rooms

A group of ten of us stayed here for a long weekend in May. The hotel has a beautifully designed lobby and staircase although the glass staircase took some getting used to, I opted for the lift!!
Our room was on the top floor in the roof space, there was limited head height but it wasn't too much of an issue. the sky light was a velux style and had an external blind which we closed in the evening. There was fridge in the room which was useful for keeping drinks cool, there was air conditioning too. The Hotel has a hidden roof terrace which is worth looking out for with views over the town.
Breakfast was great value for money with meats, cheeses, rolls, cereals, cakes, muffins and pastries all on a help your self basis, hot and cold drinks were plentiful.
All in all a well placed hotel for exploring the local area.

The hotel itself was clean and nice, the staff were very helpful, good location in the middle of Sorrento and it was quiet. However, the top floor room that we were in had a sloping ceiling that was very low and I kept banging my head, especially in the bathroom. I am only 5'5 and my boyfriend isn't much taller so for anyone taller than us they would have been bending down a lot of the time. The bathroom had a tub with a shower head, but there was no way of standing up in the bath so the shower head is attached next to the tap and there was no shower curtain, so we had to have baths instead of showers, as sitting down and showering is quite impractical. The other thing was that there was a skylight above the bed with no blind, which meant that I woke up when the sun rose at about 6.30 and it was difficult to sleep after that as the light comes in. Apart from the room, the breakfast was good and the atmosphere good.

Room Tip: Ask not to be located on the top floor, especially if you are tall or staying for more than a night

Four friends and I traveled to Sorrento for two days and booked this hotel very last minute. We ended up loving this hotel as it is only one block from the city center, and only about a 5 minute walk from the train station, which we took to the airport. Although it is a small hotel, the size of our room was perfect, and the hotel itself was clean. The people that worked here were so friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was alright, not a great selection, mostly consisting of muffins, bread, and croissants. I would definitely recommend staying here!
