I stayed here with 4 members of my family July 2013. This hotel has been recently renovated , we stayed on the 5th floor at the front of the hotel and had wonderful views of the bay and in the distance Vesuvius.I would recommend that you ask to stay at the front of the hotel rather than the rear as the views are outstanding.
Hotel staff were very helpful, the hotel is kept clean and tidy. There is a lady who manages the bar and will bring your drinks to you at the poolside - if she didn't have a tray of drinks in her hands ,then she was sweeping and cleaning around the gardens.
We had half board as we had booked a package. Breakfasts were very good ranging from fruit, scrambled eggs ,yoghurts, bread rolls ,toast, ham, cheese and the croissants were superb. The record with one of our party was 5 ! Thats how good they were.
Dinner was between 7-9 and consisted of 3 courses with a wide variety of choice. Portions for the pasta dishes are large so beware.
The hotel has a back entrance which brings you directly out on to the Piazza - you can access this with your key card. The hotel is less than 5 minutes from the train station.
We would definitely use this hotel again. Please note that if you have an early morning return flight home the hotel provides a take away breakfast.

We recently stayed at the Hotel Eden (July 17th-19th) and it was a pretty good hotel. The hotel itself is about a 10min. walk from the train station. Make sure to use the back entrance of the hotel which is at via roma, 176 makes life easier especially when you are carrying around suitcases. The check in was fast and the front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the 5th floor which was great since you got an excellent view of Sorrento. The room was clean and everything worked properly. The only thing was the hot water needed to make the water run a little while but it was no big deal. The housekeeping wasn't the greatest, one day the maid forgot to pick up the garbage and another day forgot to give us clean towels. Besides that the hotel was very good, the breakfast which was included in our stay was excellent had a bit of everything for everyone. The hotel is in a great location 5 min. walk to the center of town and 10 min walk to the pier. Also very close to the supermarket and stores. The hotel also has a pool and restaurant on site. Can not comment on the restaurant since we did not eat there, but it seem always full at night. All in all the hotel is a great place to stay especially if you plan on doing day trips to pompeii or capri.

Room Tip: try to get a room on the 4th or 5th floor the view is amazing.

We along with our family really enjoyed our stay with Luigi, Angelo, Michael, and his family at Hotel Eden. Whatever we needed they accommodated us, with excursions, to good restaurant, to directions and just plan friendliness as is the way of their most beautiful country, Sorrento. It was a perfect location, comfortable and clean and would recommend to everyone!! Just wonderful!!
Thanks Hotel Eden!!

This is a brilliantly located hotel in Sorrento, right in the heart of things but not noisy. Room was a double overlooking the gardens. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. All the staff were welcoming and helpful. We made our own travel arrangements and were just B & B which we enjoyed as there were so many excellent restaurants in Sorrento and not nearly as expensive as we had been lead to believe. The hotel breakfast was basic but perfectly adequate with cereals, fruit and yoghurt, cut meats and cheese plus scrambled eggs and the usual bread, cakes and croissants. The swimming pool wasn't enormous but it was set in lovely gardens and was very clean. All in all a very good hotel to which I would certainly return.

We have just returned from a 10 night stay in the Hotel Eden and words can't really describe how I feel. The hotel is fabulously located just back from the road so it is nice and quiet but only a few minutes away from the main square in Sorrento. The hotel is clean with the girls doing an exceptional job in the rooms and the communal areas who always have a smile for you. The reception is also immaculate manned by Luigi in the day time who is a wealth of knowledge and goes out of his way to give you advice and always asked how we was and about our day. We booked the excursion to Capri and he went out of his way to put us in touch with another family who had been so we could make sure it was what we wanted to do - and it was. Luigi was right it was one of the highlights of our holiday - seeing Capri from a boat and being able to see the caves is well worth the money (this particular tour also drops you off for 3 hours for you to explore Capri at the smaller of the ports so we did not get all the crowds or hassle - bliss!!!) Michele who also works in the hotel was just the best. He would be up early cutting the grass around the pool, tending to the beautiful gardens they have around the hotel, picking the flowers for the gorgeous fresh flowers they have in the reception and on the tables near the bar, running the bar, keeping the pool clean, providing sunbeds, making sure everyone is ok, carrying the cases the list goes on and on...... taking time to tell us the best place to have ice cream and making sure we were all happy. His energy was unreal and the pleasure he gets from his job could be seen every day. He deserves a medal as he made our holiday so enjoyable. On the last day he went out of his way to cut us some fresh basil to take home and got one of the girls who spoke better English (even though his is very good) to give us the recipe for walnut pesto. We was a bit bowled over by this and came straight home and made a batch, nothing you can buy will taste quite the same! Our room was just right. What more do you need? Lovely clean beds, wardrobe, dressing table with mirror, bedside cabinets and a gorgeous shower (hair dryers included) and a fabulous view out over the front court yard, the lemon orchard to the right and a glimpse of the sea in the distance. We had a small balcony (just enough for a chair), perfect to gaze out of. We also had a fridge which worked when you was in the room (room card operated the electric) which was great to keep water cool at night, free safe (nice touch) and a flat screen telly but frankly who needs a telly when you are in Sorrento - the view was enough. We was in room 306 and think now having seen the hotel any room at the front would be fine (balconies are on the first floor). I can't comment on the back and obviously the higher you go the better the view across the bay, but ours was perfect. The breakfast was in the lovely little room at the front of the hotel with chairs inside and a few out. Being a buffet you could have a much as you wanted so we found it saw us through until dinner (perfect for watching the pennies a little!) The coffee machine was great providing every sort of coffee you could desire (my other half loved this), but for me the best thing was the hot chocolates - very indulgent. You then had a great choice of cereals, fruit, breads, croissants, spreads, ham, cheese, toast, fruit juices and scrambled egg, I felt a great choice for a continental breakfast. The staff in here were polite and kept everything spotless and all food was stocked up from the beginning to the end (7am to 10am). The pool area was gorgeous. A fabulous place to relax either on a sunbed or reclining chair. On the odd occasion there were no chairs left there was a nice seating area with tables or the grass was nice to lay on and there was plenty of parasols to get that welcome bit of shade. The area was in the sun all day until early evening so was perfect for those lazy days or to chill out after a day in the bustle of the area. Again the area was immaculate and the flowers/gardens were beautiful a real credit to the staff. I can't recommend this hotel enough but when we left we had hugs and a few tears and it is not many places you will get that? As a family run hotel it must be one of the best near the square for value for money and you won't get a better welcome or service I doubt anywhere else. I have travelled all over the world but all the staff here made this a cut above the rest and Sorrento and its beautiful area is hard to beat. Ten out of ten.

Room Tip: Room 306 was just fine for us but anything at the front lovely I obviously the higher you go the bet...

Just returned from a week at The Eden Hotel. A lovely family run hotel in the centre of Sorrento. Although it is located very centrally it is an oasis of calm. You can get anywhere from here. The room was bright and very clean. Very nice modern bathroom. We were half board and found the breakfast very satisfactory as was dinner. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again. I would recommend it if you are looking for a good base in Sorrento which doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Room Tip: I was staying in a room which overlooked the front of the hotel which has a lovely courtyard and gar...
