“A really top class restaurant without stuffy ess of the Michelin Star restaurants...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2012 via mobile

Myself & my wife were on honeymoon in Sorrento & we got a gift of dinner here.. Food is superb. We went for the Big Gourmet with wine tasting.. The waiter was brilliant & atmosphere much more fun & light than a stuffy Michelin star venue...as you might expect it isn't cheap but quality of food & service made it good value & an experience to remember...

“Not to be missed in Sorrento”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2012

This restaurant provides a lovely fine dining experience just away from the hustle and bustle of Sorrento streets. We made a last minute reservation through our concierge and were lucky enough to be seated outside. I am not always a big fan of al fresco dining-but if you eat here you absolutely must eat outside. Book in advance to ensure. The outdoor seating is tucked away down a few steps off the street. The service was professional and friendly. My husband had a buffalo mozzarella trio appetizer which was fantastic. He also had a local fish which was very good. Because I am picky, they made a pasta dish to my specifications and it was very good. On the first page of the menu, they state that they will make modifications for you and I was very appreciative of this. This is the finest restaurant in Sorrento-our hotel said they have 1 Michelin star. A lovely experience.

“Special occasion dining”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2012

We had a great anniversary dinner at Il Buco, who recommended the Gourmet Tasting menu. Each course was deliscous and we didn't want the evening to end. We had the Chataubriand on a previous visit and that was also melt-in-the-mouth! The staff are friendly and attentive and go that extra mile to make your meal a special occasion. Not cheap, but meets all expectations and lives up to its Michelin Star.

“Brilliant Birthday Dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

We had a week in Sorrento to celebrate the good lady's birthday. Some people we had chummed up with recommended Il Bucco so we went for it - a special meal on her birthday.
We opted for just two courses which were sandwiched between the chef's Amuse Bouche and his Assiette of Deserts with a limoncello - both with his compliments.
It would be churlish to describe what we actually ate but we can say that it was superbly cooked, and served along with wine recommended by the waiter and preceded with cocktails mixed at our table
From beginning to end, nothing could be faulted - we didn't even begrudge parting with £150:00 at the end of the evening.
This was fine dining at its best.
Would we repeat the experience?
Certainly - but not until the mortgage is paid off!

“Deliciously fine dining!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

If you are in the mood to splurge a little and get truely unbelivable service, to die for food and great wine, this is THE place you want to visit in Sorrento. True it's pricetag is a little steep ( hence the "splurge") but if you have the dosh it is absolutely worth it. I would even go as far as saying its worth a few "homecook" nights to be able to afford it. The location and venue are beautiful and helps to make the whole experience very special. My companions shared the chateau briand and i hand a little taste...omg. Melted in your mouth. I hand a lovly glass of procecco, a squid starter and a seafood pasta... All very good but nothing topped my chocolate dessert!! If there is a sweet tooth anywhere in your body it will squeek with happinesssss!
So... Expensive but worth it.
