We stayed at the Ulisse for 7 nights at the beginning of September and were extremely happy with our choice. You can't beat the price (mention Rick Steves) and the location put us in walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go in Sorrento. We had requested room 218 and were happy to find out we got it. This room has a balcony with a table and 2 chairs and great views ... if you look up. What we didn't know is that there is a mental health facility across the street. Nothing offensive about it, but sometimes it was sad to see the patients and a bit disturbing to hear the shouts at times. The room is large, as is the bathroom (with a very special showerhead that turns different colours when the water runs!), and the air conditioning and shutters keep the room cool and comfortable. The breakfast offered for 7 euros was very nice, but didn't change much each day (sometimes the cakes were different). There were scrambled eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, cereals, yoghurt, cakes and croissants, bread for toasting or rolls, coffee, tea, water and 3 kinds of juices - you really can't complain for that price! The best thing about the Ulisse is the staff. They are so helpful and friendly! I had mentioned that we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, and we were greeted with a bottle of champagne and a nice congratulatory note from the staff and management - a very nice touch!
We would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel to our family and friends.

We stayed in Ulisse Delux for 5 nights and loved it. A very good hotel - The room is big clean and comfortable with a vault, the hotel has a nice gym and breakfast was also good with a lot of veriaty.
The location is excellent (in the center of Sorrento and close to the Marina). The staff is friendly, helpful and was willing to answer any questions we had.
Great value.

We stayed here when we travelled to Sorrento for a wedding in June 2013. The Deluxe Hostel was lovely, very comfortable and clean. Air conditioning and window shades made the room lovely and cool to stay and sleep in. Our en suite was a good size and very clean. The hostel is a short walk to the heart of Sorrento, and ideal as a base to explore the whole area. We did day trips to Positano and Capri. The bus station was a 15minute walk away.

Would definitely stay here again.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is ideally situated near the shops in Sorrento and the beach/marina. The staff was very friendly, always greeting us with a welcoming smile. We particularly appreciated the great service we received from Angelo who was always ready with a helpful answer and very accommodating of our needs. The hotel is a ten minute walk from the train station. One thing to note if you walk to the hotel is that you do have to walk down some steep steps to get to it. This was not a problem for us, as we travel lightly, but could be a bit cumbersome for those traveling with larger suitcases (would recommend a cab instead). The rooms are spacious with plenty of room for storage and a great bathroom. The large shower was a welcome sight after our stay in Rome where the shower was quite narrow. Our only complaint is that the walls are a bit thin so you can hear quite a bit of hallway noise and noise from the rooms nearby. It was particularly annoying hearing the chairs scraping across the marble floors early in the morning as the staff cleaned rooms. Overall, though, you get excellent value for your money and I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed in this hotel last week for a couple of days. The room was huge the staff could not do enough for us and the location as within easy reach to everything, The breakfast was basic but adequate. I would like to thank he staff for making our stay so comfortable. Any queries we had on trips were answered immediately. I would highly recommend this hotel. We had a triple room. 3 singles. and still there was loads of floor space. Free wi-fi. this is so much more than a hostel, it is definately a hotel.

Just back from a stay at Ulisse Hostel Had a great time. Its a fantastic place to stay. Not sure what the difference between hostel/hotel is here only difference I could see was no tea/coffee/iron facility in room. The place is spotless clean. We booked a triple room and it was huge 3 separate beds and even had a couch. The bathroom was also huge. No Views from the room. The breakfast was a great spread for 7 Euro cereals/yogarts/fruits/breads /salami/ham/cheese/cakes etc. The staff were all lovely and very welcoming, especially Angelo on the front desk he was very helpful. This Hostel is in a great location to explore Sorrento. Come out the front door turn right then first left and this brings you along all the back streets with all shops and restaurants which leads up to main square. We walked everywhere from here. Would have no problem returning to the Ulisse Deluxe Great value for money

Room Tip: Room 118 for a huge triple room. But no view looking onto another building

..... and the shopping is across the road and down an alley. Make sure that you find the Lemon Slushie Shop with Vodka Shots added (only if you want of course) . Excellent location within steps of great restaurants and craftsmen making traditional wooden products. Staff, very welcoming and helpful including helping us unlock our room safe (we forgot the code) and changing the sheets as we were there for 6 nights and kept bringing in the sand. 7 Euro a day breakfasts set us up for the day and they were plentiful. The large rooms with a power blind/shutter system gave good security and soundproofing. The view from our room was not pleasant but you cannot have it all. Sorrento is an expensive place to stay but this Hostel was reasonable for the price and is more like the standard of a 4 Star hotel. Walk every were from here and did not get a handle on the buses. Stayed in Sorrento for a wedding so a lot of time spent with family. Took own travel iron - there was an ironing room with an ironing board and some old irons - glad we had our own. Great fruit shop next to this place. We did have a small balcony off our room .
