“Hidden Gem with a great view”

This B&B has one of the greatest views in Sorrento and one of the few places where you really get to know the owner, Gianluigi. You actually get to experience first-hand Italian driving since the road is narrow and windy all the way to the top and Gianluigi will pick you up in the city center. I will mention that it is a little out of the way but the free pickup service is not a problem any time of night. You usually need to give him about an hours notice but it's not really an issue because you can just shop or walk around until then. The walk down the mountain is very steep but doable for anyone. I saw an older couple in their 60s making the trek w/ no issue. It is very well marked and lit. The B&B is cute and "homey" and classic Italian hillside villa. The bedroom accomodations are pretty simple but the bathroom was very updated. We stayed in the USA room which had a terrace and I think there was 2 other rooms in that part of the house. We shared a common kitchen that was stocked w/ the basics so that was nice. DO NOT attempt to walk there w/ your luggage. Gianluigi can pick you up in front of a cafe just down the road from the train station. The breakfast was good but a warning for my fellow Americans....you don't put milk on your cereal in Italy. The cereal is for the yogurt and the milk is warm and goes in your coffee.

Room Tip: The USA room has a great view and terrace w/ an updated bathroom. There is a shared kitchen.

The pictures online do not do the views that you experience at Casarufolo justice - just breathtaking! Getting to this place is quite the adventure, so ensure that Gianluigi picks you up. He is so friendly and insists on picking you up! The walk down is not too bad and actually very beautiful, but I would not want to try walking up - esp with luggage! The rooms were very basic, along with the breakfast, but for us all we cared about were the views! I would highly recommend this place for the experience and wonderful family!

We had a very nice experience at the Casarufolo Paradise and found it to be a great base from which to explore beautiful Sorrento and the surrounding area. This charming B&B is a 5-minute drive to the center of Sorrento. The owners will graciously take you to/from the city/hotel and vice versa, so you don’t need a car. Be sure to call the hotel for this service when you arrive in Sorrento, as it’s too far to transport luggage. Without luggage, it’s a 20-25 minute stroll to the center of town, but the walk is quite nice, especially if you’ve never experienced the charm of Southern Italy.

As other reviewers have noted, it is not advisable to drive to the hotel, since some of the streets are very narrow. However, if you do choose to drive, it would be advantageous to select a sub-compact vehicle.

Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. It also had a private entrance and an outside sitting area. The hotel’s rustic charm was refreshing and our morning wake-up call from the local rooster was enchanting. Breakfast is served on the upper balcony, which offers a truly splendid view of the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Casarufolo Paradise was a great alternative to the overpriced hotels in Sorrento and the owners were truly wonderful people. If you’re going to Sorrento, consider staying here!

The best breakfast location we have experienced. What a view! Charming, friendly and very helpful hosts - a lovely family. Our room was perfect. The walk from Sorrento we (late 40s/50s) found a pleasant way to end the evening, but it is quick a (shortish) climb. Gianluigi, the owner, was ALWAYS willing to provide lifts if needed however. This accommodation is not incorrectly named! Would recommend.

First and foremost, if you stay here, DO NOT try to walk there with all your luggage! The road up there is VERY steep and narrow in parts, and Gianluigi insists you phone him and ask for a lift - he is at his guest's disposal to drive guests to and from an agreed meeting point in the town. In saying that, the walk to and from town is very pretty through the lemon and olive groves and narrow winding roads, as long as you are reasonably fit (and aren't lugging suitcases in the hot sun). I would not recommend driving unless you have a very small car, as the road up is very narrow. The location, while out of town, is actually an asset. Set in an old stone building high up on a hill with views overlooking the surrounding olive grove and lemon trees, and you can see the island of Capri in the distance.

The rooms were very basic (ours didnt even have a TV although other guests did have one) and a bit worn/old fashioned but they were fine for three days. The breakfast was fine, no better nor worse than others we had in Italy. There was a communal kitchen in the house which we were able to use the fridge for some drinks.

While you are here, you must eat at Mario's restaurant (ask Gianluigi) - it's a truly authentic Italian experience and simply delicious.

A beautiful tranquil place stay out of the hustle and bustle of touristy Sorrento, with the most helpful, friendly hosts who really care about their guests.

Been there for a long week-end and wished to have stayed longer..Beautiful stone house in the middle of olive groves, high up on the hill and perfect for a far away view of Sorrento..Breakfast is wonderful and served on a terrace with a view..The hosts are really nice people and they offer a very helpful pick-up service from town..Just try to walk whenever possible, the path is just lovely..All in all, a great quiet place to relax and enjoy the beautiful views..Hope to go back sometimes..Thanks Lia and Gianluigi!
