“for a perfect stay in Salerno”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

we have just returned from our second stay in Antica b and b in Salerno. It was lovely to be back and be greeted by great hosts. Daniele and Viviana are very kind and welcoming. The b and b is excellently located, very clean and breakfasts are excellent. We have booked again for a week next year and look forward to our return. Andy and Ros

We spent 4 days at this property and found everything to our liking. The owner lives there with his family so we got to meet them as well and that was a real bonus. Location is perfect to visit Salerno and also get to the train station with a short walk. Breakfast was very nice. Rooms were very clean, nice air conditioning, and OK baths. The host was very accommodating and offered good advice and helped us out with transportation on one occasion. If we return to Salerno, we would go back in a sec.

Here's an example of the kind of service we experienced. We had rented a car for one day. Parking nearby was 30 Euro a night but Daniele knew of a much cheaper place 1 km away. He drove us to our car and then he personally drove our car through town to the cheaper place. In the morning he arranged for the garage to bring us our car. They even came with us to show us where to gas up because it wasn't easy to find. That's mind blowing service!

They also greet you when you arrive with some local antipasti and wine. Breakfast was a mix of lovely homemade items plus some packaged items. Everything we could want.

We had the room with 2 single beds put together for a double. We had plenty of space. My only complaints were that the shower was so tiny (and I'm well aware of how small Italian showers typically are) and the noise coming in from the courtyard.

Loved the location. It couldn't be more perfect for walking in the town centre or along the seaside promenade. Felt very safe. Lots of nearby restaurants. We also could walk to the train/bus/ferries although not with our luggage. It was at least a 15 min. walk.

We loved Salerno. So much life at night. So many non touristy great restaurants. The seaside promenade means, unlike most Amalfi coast places, you can have a long pretty walk without stairs. Plus the train goes straight here in 1/2 hour from the airport.

Just returned from our stay at Salerno Antica and cannot praise this place highly enough. From our first communication Daniele was SO helpful and accommodating, even arranging our collection from the airport and an extra unplanned night with another local B&B since he was (understandably) fully booked.

The accommodation is in the perfect central location right in the heart of town next to the central square but tucked around a quiet corner. It's easy walking distance from the station, the ferries and so many bars and restaurants. The rooms were beautifully decorated with some lovely touches which set it apart from other B & Bs - hairdryer, bathroom amenities, free WiFi, guidebooks and maps in the room and of course the lovely welcome drink and delicious local food.

Breakfast is a real feast compared to many other B&B's we've experienced with a wide range of continental delicacies, juices, fruits, yogurts, eggs (if we wished) and a large delicious cup of cappuccino.

Nothing was too much trouble for Daniele and Viviana - a really delightful young couple who have the best interests of their guests at heart and who will do anything to ensure the very best stay in Salerno. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. We will be staying there again without doubt and I urge anyone else to do so, you won't be disappointed.

The BnB is locate near the main shopping street.
Both Daniele and his sister were very friendly and helpful.
The room was clean and big. Bathroom was clean and shower was strong. There was an excellent welcome cocktail.
We were offered a choice of Italian or American breakfast which we tried during our 2 nights stay there. Both breakfast were excellent and plentiful.

Thank you for all the help provided during our stay.
Antica will alway be our first choice for Salerno BnB.

We only stayed one night, but Daniele and his sister Vivianna made us so welcome. They even showed us the way to cheap car parking out of the centre, and drove us back. They were most attentive, the welcome tray food and drink was just what we needed after a long drive, and breakfast was lovely. Their B&B is in a superb position for exploring the town, and they recommended a nearby restaurant which proved to be excellent. The room (the smaller of the two) was spotless, quiet and comfortable.
Salerno is not a great place to have a car, we would take the train next time... otherwise, the town had a good, friendly feel, and we look forward to going back for a longer stay!

We loved every minute staying at Salerno Antica. We were a group of three adults so we took both rooms, making it feel like our own private hotel. The rooms were lovely, airy and bright, nicely furnished and immaculately clean. The welcome cocktail really hit the spot after a long day of travel! Daniele could not have been kinder or more helpful in every way, always available if you needed him and never intrusive. Breakfast was the best we had anywhere in our 5 week stay in Italy, in fact it spoiled us because after Daniele's service, all other places seemed poor in comparison. Oh, and the location could not have been better. We had some of the best meals of our whole trip within two blocks of the B&B. Perfection all around. I would not hesitate to stay here again and in fact would probably change my travel plans rather than stay anywhere else in Salerno.
