My husband and I spent 6 nights at Salerno Centro and found it to be ideal for visiting the Naples/Amalfi area. There are only 3 rooms, so the B&B is quiet and homey. Kaoru, the manager, is very friendly and helpful in providing maps and information on train and bus connections, so we were able to visit Pompeii, Paestum, Amalfi, Caserta and Naples on our own by public transportation. We like to travel that way, but they will also provide a driver if you prefer that. Salerno's "Centro Storico," where the B&B is located, is delightful to wander around, too. It feels very authentic, and not like a tourist town. Another bonus is the restaurant recommendations - we had some wonderful meals and even got a discount at a couple of places. Kaoru and Lina provide an ample and tasty breakfast every morning, and we really enjoyed talking with them on the mornings we weren't rushing off to the train station. The last day they were kind enough to let us stay in our room until it was time to catch our train back to Rome. We would highly recommend staying with them if you are visiting the area. We chose Salerno Centro because of the excellent Tripadvisor reviews, and they were right!

Room Tip: We really liked the Positano room because of the attached terrace, even though we didn't spend m...

I am now at the Salerno Centro B&B for the second time in a month. I chose Salerno as a place to break the journey from Rome to Sicily, and back; I chose Salerno Centro B&B because of its in-town location and the services it provides, such as transfers from the railway station. In addition, as many reviewers have pointed out, Salerno is located close to the Amalfi Coast and Paestum. You can stay at this immaculate B&B at a reasonable price while you make day trips around Campania. Salerno provides a more authentic experience than many of the big name places, so don't forget to spend a little time here as well.

We chose Salerno to begin our first time trip to the beautiful Amalfi Coast. We like to stay in the center city, within walking distance to restaurants and shops when we travel, preferably in "old town". The Salerno Central was the perfect location for us. The price was modest, the accoomodations very clean with wonderful hospitality from our hosts.

My family and I stayed at the Salerno Centro B&B for two nights. Everything about our stay was great, from the location to the breakfast to the manager and owner. They arranged for visits to Paestum, a mozzarella farm, and a local museum. The rooms were very nice and clean and had a refrigerator. Restaurants, shopping, grocery store- all within easy walking distance of the B&B. If I went back to Salerno, I would stay there again.

My family of four (husband and 2 grown daughters) recently stayed at this delightful B&B in Salerno as the beginning of our trip to the Amalfi coast. Francesco, the owner, was so responsive to my e-mail requests for help with dinner reservations and transportation to Paestum and the WWII museum in Salerno. We used his father, Pasquale, who is a kind and gentle man, to drive us on a tour of a buffalo mozzerella farm, the Greek ruins in Paestum and the WWII museum. He also picked us up at the train station. The B&B manager, Kauro, was helpful with information on local sights to see and directions to the restaurants we tried. The B&B is immaculately clean and served a delicious breakfast. Its location in the historic center of Salerno was perfect. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it without reservation!

Ideally situated at the edge of the historic centre , this charming B&B was perfect for our stay in Salerno - a very warm welcome, comfortable room and ample and tasty breakfast. Kaoru is fantastic in very efficiently providing all the travel information and bus and train timetables for visiting Paestum and the Amalfi Coast, and Lina is a most gracious host. Although most travellers use Salerno as a base for touring the Amalfi coast, it is well worth your while to spend some time exploring the historic centre. If you are looking for accommodation in Salerno, make B&B Salerno Centro your first choice.

I chose to spend 4 nights in Salerno while exploring the Amalfi Coast region, and Campagna south of Naples. While I'm not normally a "B&B type", I decided to contact the manager of Salerno Centro after the many glowing reviews here on tripadvisor--and wow, I'm so glad I did! We ended up having a wonderful stay here and felt as though we were staying with family, not strangers. Francesco was wonderful to work with from the start, from arranging the dates of our travel to pick up at the train station (he and his father met us there) to even planning a cooking lesson in his mother's kitchen!

My partner and I stayed in the Positano room, which was very comfortable and spacious, with its own private balcony. I appreciated the mini fridge as well, for keeping drinks cold and also storing some food snacks in our room. Every morning Kaoru (the assistant inn-keeper) or Lena (Francesco's mother) would greet us with a delicious breakfast of whatever we desired: homemade cake, juice, coffee, yogurt, meat and cheese, eggs if we wished but we usually tried to eat light in the mornings. Francesco recommended several excellent restaurants in the area where we enjoyed delicious meals, and also checked on several other attractions we were interested in to confirm their hours, openings, and even driving us there if a bit out of the way (such as the museum dedicated to the Allied landing during World War II.)

We also enjoyed two day-trip adventures arranged by the family at Salerno Centro: a visit to Paestum and a buffalo mozzarella farm, and then a private drive along the Amalfi coast to Amalfi, Ravello and Positano. Really, Salerno Centro offers everything you could ask for; you can "wing it" on your own, or take advantage of the private, personal services they offer to really explore the region fully and in comfort.

My only - ONLY - quibble with our room was that the in-suite shower stall was very small and awkward to use, but I am told that they are already planning to replace it with a larger and more comfortable unit in the coming months. We hope we will be able to plan a return visit some time in the next year as we really fell in love with Salerno, the region, and the wonderful people at this delightful B&B.
