It is not just about saving money and often you can find cheaper hotels - it is about getting a richer experience. Francesco and his parents look after you so well that you will feel sad to leave them.
The B&B is in the heart of Salerno, 10 minutes walk from the station along a pedestrian street and 100m from the sea. Aside from Salerno itself you are ideally placed to visit Paestum, Amalfi, Pompeii and Naples. If these are on you list then Salerno is better placed than Sorrento and a lot more relaxing than Naples.
Accomodation is homely rather than luxurious as you would expect from a B&B. We stayed in the double with separate bathroom. A big comfortable bed and plenty of room. Crossing the corridor to the bathroom is not an issue as long as you remember your Pyjamas.
Mama looks after you at breakfast. There are the usual things as well as home made cake and Mama will cook you eggs if you want. Francesco will pick you up from the station if he can and gives good advice on where to eat, what to see in Salerno and how to get to the main places to visit from Salerno (Paestum, Pompeii, Caserta etc.).
If you have never tried B&B in Italy, this is a good place to start!
