It’s long story…..
It’s an apartment so the day before we made a time to meet the landlord, 3pm.
After waiting in the rain for nearly 2 hrs outside the designated location, a pizza shop, ringing the phone number supplied regularly, which wasn’t answered, the lady finally arrived.
If it wasn’t for the Pizza shop owner, who rang her relative, I have no idea when she would have eventually turned up.
When asked why she wasn’t here at 3pm she said that most times the tenants keep her waiting. No apology!!!.
And it got worse, the first issue was, if we wanted help getting our bag up the 150 steps it’s 7Euro a bag, now we’re paying about 300euros a night for this place, I would have thought some assistance would have been included. When we agreed we were told the bags would be moved from the street when it stopped raining, meaning if I wanted dry clothes I would have to do it myself, which I did, no choice.
Once we finally arrived in the apartment, which to be fair is quite lovely we were delivered more bad news. Breakfast supplied, oh yeah, no coffee, no tea, the left over milk from the previous tenant, a litre bottle half full, orange juice, half full, no bread…..we went out for breakfast!
Then, as for the cleanliness, dishes still in the dishwasher, and the bathroom rubbish bins still full from previous tenants (I cannot tell you what fell out when the bin was accidently knocked over) It made me wonder if the sheets had been changed.
The iron didn’t work, neither did the hot plates, clearly no quality control and no eye for detail like a host should have when renting out an apartment for 300E a night
Additionally, we were charged for our full stay over a month before we arrive which it very unusual for the 100’s of nights I have booked thru booking.com.
My suggestion, find a nice hotel, this place isn’t worth the agro even though it does have a great view of Amalfi.
