Villa Knight was the highlight of our vacation to Italy. The owner was extremely hospitable, spoke very good English, and even moved his car so we could park in the gated area. The rooms are very unique and provide an awesome view of the city and mountainside. It is only a short walk away from several restaurants, pubs, mini markets, and some decent hiking trails. I hope we get the opportunity to go back!

“Pogerola Was A Delightful Experience”

My sisters and I stayed at Villa Knight from Aug 14 - 19 and we could not have picked a more perfect place to spend our days on the Amalfi coast. We arrived in Salerno after a one and a half hour train ride from Rome. We set up a private transfer that drove us directly to the villa. We ran into some heavy traffic so the ride was way longer than anticipated about 2 hours. Should have only been about 1 hour 10 minutes if you are interested in taking this route. Our ride back to Salerno train station was just under an hour with light traffic so it really depends on traffic. The long drive can be somewhat nauseating if you are prone to motion sickness. I packed plenty of ginger candy and wore a wristband which really helped so if you experience this be prepared as the roads are very twisty turny not too mention very high. That being said the views are absolutely stunning. Once we reached Amalfi the drive was about 15 minutes so taking a bus into town is not too much trouble.

We rented the entire villa for our stay as we were 5 and it was heaven having the place to ourselves. We all had our own rooms and the pool area was a fantastic place to unwind and cool off in the pool.

Pasquale the owner was there to meet us when we arrived. He was very welcoming and I must say very strong. He managed carrying all our luggage by himself.

God bless him I could not imagine having to do that. Very daunting as there are so many steps. He mentioned that was his exercise and what a workout it is. He showed us all our rooms and we each received our own set of keys. He explained how things worked and told us where the piazza was and the shortcut to get there. He said to call if we needed anything or had any concerns.

The rooms each had their own bathrooms and everything in order. He left us towels for the pool and I must say they were an excellent quality as were the towels in the bathrooms. We did not opt for cleaning service. Each room had a television except for the 2 rooms on the main level that shared the tv in thee living room. Each room had individual a/c units that kept the rooms very comfortable. The living room/kitchen did not have a/c and it did get warm at times. The linens and bed were also comfortable.

There was some fruit left in a bowl on the kitchen counter but it was quite rotten and had been overrun with ants. So we were basically killing ants in that area during our stay. We had to keep opened items in the fridge. Pasquale had mentioned bringing some dishwasher detergent but never did. So we ended up hand washing everything we used. It would have also been nice to have garbage bags left for us. We had to dispose of all that fruit and we ended up having to use bags we brought. We also did some grocery shopping and used those bags. So for future guests maybe keep that in mind. There was lots of items left in the kitchen from past guests like random spices, napkins, sugar and coffee just to name a few. So that was handy and appreciated. The laundry machine was adequate and there were plenty of drying racks to hang clothes out to dry.

Overall the villa could have used some cleaning. I made the mistake of walking barefoot in my room and when I looked at my feet they were extremely dirty. So never did that again. The cushions on the pool chairs could use a clean and for some reason they slide off making it a tad uncomfortable. I understand the villa has much traffic in and out but perhaps a more thorough cleaning would make it more acceptable. Some of the walls also looked like they could use some paint. It's a very large property and upkeep is most likely never ending and Pasquale was there some early mornings tending to the yard maintenance. We did call and email Pasquale repeatedly during our stay with some questions but he never responded which was very disappointing. He only responded to one email during our stay. Thank goodness he was there to help with our luggage at check out because our driver wanted to come earlier than scheduled and I tried to email him several times and he did not respond. Nonetheless he was there and again performed a miracle taking all our heavy luggage up. He was very dependable in that way. It was very disappointing as I did read some previous reviews regarding how receptive the owners were.

The villa has outstanding views of Amalfi. Everywhere you looked was magnificent. It just felt like a dream being there.
Lounging by the pool was heaven. It was extremely peaceful and quiet. No screaming kids or loud drunks. Just our own little oasis to unwind, catch some sunshine and rest. The pool was very refreshing however; the liner was kinked and crumpled in some areas.

The villa was also in walking distance to many conveniences. We could walk to pick up groceries, fruit, meat and cheese. We could also walk to all the great restaurants in the piazza. What an absolutely perfect location. Instead of going up the 4 or 5 flights of stairs in the villa you could take a shortcut, which was one flight up, and then a walk through a narrow path (which we were warned had falling rocks) and then up another staircase. Lots of exercise to work off all the wonderful food the piazza had to offer, not to mention the delicious gelato. You could also walk to the bus stop and take the sita to Amalfi. So convenient for catching the ferry to now one of my favourite places Positano which was about a 25 minute ferry ride. We were so pleased with this location and all the amenities it had to offer. We ate all of our dinners in Pogerola we had no need or desire to head down the mountain to eat in Amalfi. The villa was located just close enough to Amalfi without having to deal with all the hustle and bustle of hoards of tourists.

Wish I could have given it 3 1/2stars but due to cleanliness issues and lack of response from owners it lost 1 1/2 stars

For views, serenity and location convenience this villa gets 5 stars

So just got back from a week here and had the best time. The accommodation is unreal and set up in the hills above Amalfi. It's set over 5 bedrooms, 3 with the most amazing private terraces with views over the sea, the others don't have outside areas but still great views. All ensuit. The outside is set over 4/5 areas which are all amazing. dining area, seating area, pool area and the BBQ area, all over looking Amalfi and the sea. There's no outside area of this property with restricted or poor views.

Location is excellent for the small local village, 5 min walk. 4 shops, few bars and a few restaurants. Bus stop in village, 15 mins from Amalfi (€1.2)

The property is brought to light with the unbelievable hospitality and service from its owner Pasquale. He literally can't do enough for you, from carrying your cases, booking restaurants, fixing any problems and simply being a wonderful host and humble man.....thanks so much.

Negatives.....none. But i will point out that this property is set amongst serval sets of steps and can't be accessed without tackling steps.

Villa Knight was everything we hoped for and more. Pasquale was an amazing host. The villa is in the small town of Pogerola. We rented the two bedroom apartment with kitchen and it was perfect for our needs. So close to everything. We loved our time here and plan on returning one day.

Absolutely stunning villa , beautiful views of Pogerola and peaceful stay after going down and visiting the rest of the coast! Clean, bright, not a bad word to say about our stay! Pasquale and his wife made us feel very welcome and left us with it to do our thing..he popped back a few times to see if we was ok ! So friendly and Pasquale speaks good English so it's easy to communicate . The only thing missing to the villa is a nice little lift to avoid the steps but apart from that it's perfect! Also the pool is much more bigger than showed on the photos

“Excellent Villa with Superb views”

The villa is situated in Pogerola - in the hills above Amalfi (approx 15 mins drive). The property is on four levels, car park level, swimming pool level, and the lower two levels are the bedrooms. It is very well maintained and equipped. We were a group of 11 and there was ample room for us. There are 5 double bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a living room and 2 kitchens

We were met on arrival by the owner Pasquali - who showed us around the property and provided information on the village. Additionally, I cannot thank him enough for the help he gave us when one of our cars had a major issue on the second day we were there.

One of the major benefits of the property is the stunning views of out across the sea particularly in the morning. The village is connected to Amalfi by a short bus ride (every 30 mins & €1.20 ) from where you can catch buses to the other major sights (Positano, Ravello) or in the summer a boat to Capri.

We stayed for 5 nights and were very satisfied with our choice.

“Villa with a view!”

We hired Villa Knight for a family reunion of 8 people. It was ideal for us with the 5 bedrooms, all with their own bathroom. Three of the bedrooms were on one level, each with their own terrace, with the other two on the floor above along with the communal lounge/kitchen. There was plenty of space for us all without feeling on top of each other. The grounds of the villa are on the side of a steep hill so note there are numerous steps to negotiate around the property.
The villa is situated in Pogerola, a village in the mountains above Amalfi. The village has all the shops, bars and restaurants you need and all within a short walk from the villa. The people in the village are warm, friendly and very helpful.
Travelling from the villa will depend on your preference. There are 2 footpaths down to Amalfi, one of which comprises 1300 steps and is not advisable to walk back up, the other is more meandering. There is a regular bus service from the village to Amalfi and it's a good and cheap service. From Amalfi you can then get a bus, taxi or boat to other towns along the Amalfi coast. If you, like us, hire a car, just remember that the Amalfi Coast, with its stunning scenery, comprises of narrow roads on steep hillsides with numerous hairpin bends and Italian drivers. Not for the fainthearted!!
We had a great holiday at this villa and the Amalfi Coast boasts some fantastic scenery. Highlight for us was the boat trip to Capri, which enabled us to view the Amalfi Coast from the water, as well as saviour the delights of the island itself.
