This was our best meal during our trip to Italy. The restaurant is a large white room decorated with ceramics. Service and food superb. Its not cheap but worth every penny. Try the sea bass with shrimp and mash potato in a lemon sauce - sublime !

The quality of food was up to the standard expected of a restaurant with such a reputation, and the service was very precise and formal. The atmosphere, however, was hushed and lacking in spontaneity and enjoyment. We ate here 5 years ago and felt the same then.

We had heard so much about La Caravella and were looking forward to the evening - unfortunately it did not come up to our expectations. The food was good but nothing to blow you away. I do need to add that he wine list was outstanding. All in all probably not worth the cost.

You get what you pay for and this is no exception
Cared for from the moment you arrive and air of elegant tranqulity with a view to die for (hence the high charge)
Food is fresh very well presented with lots of flavour
Piano music in background
(my first visit waited 1 hr for main course - I think they had forgotten - and some prosecco given to sweaten the frustration) Despite this second visit was perfect hence my 5 stars

Still worthy of its Michelin star... But not really striving to blow you away.
My wife and I went at 8 pm on Friday and were the only ones who dined the entire night. I had the tasting menu, she had a pasta dish and the filet (extremely tender and covered with black truffles). With one glass of regional white wine for her and one glass of regional red for myself, our total bill (with 17 euro tip) was 200 euro. Compared to dinner at Villa Cimbrone (Il Flauto di Pan) the night before, we found this experience slightly lackluster.
