I want to return tomorrow!!! Thank you Rina for a beautiful vacation. We will treasure the many steps to your villa, for it was worth every one. Thank you for your amazing dinners and the delightful lemon cake and helping plan the photographs in the gardens with Emanuele.

If you are planning a trip to Amalfi you will love Villa Rina. The view of the sea is breathtaking, the 400 steps up are BREATHTAKING!, the first bite of Rina's lemon cake was breathtaking(and every bite in between. It was delicious!) One of my favorite moments was walking with Rina through the gardens and gathering eggs from the chicken coop. Also, throughout the day you could hear the sound of roosters and occasionally a donkey braying. It was peaceful and serene. I cannot recommend a more beautiful place for experiencing Italy. MILLE GRAZIE!!

Villa Rina is a small paradise and it's the best hotel I chose for the entire 2 weeks trip in Italy. I wish I can retire here. Rina is kind and warm-hearted. She cooks very well. If you have enough time, try your best to have dinner at Rina Villa. It'll be an unmemorable night for you. I love the fried fish Rina cooked. The room was clean and tidy and we had a super big private balcony with wonderful seaview. It takes 20-30 min from the pier to the hotel. It totally worth it as you can have nice view during the walk and when you look at the sea from the hotel, you'll forget all the pain and tiredness.

O.K, lots of reviews have mentioned the arduous task of reaching this property, and it does take a great deal of effort but its well worth it. As most will be arriving by ferry or bus then I would suggest jumping on the Sorrento bound bus that leaves from the harbour. Ask for the S Caterina Hotel and the driver will drop you off. Opposite the hotel you will see a sign for Villa Rina.
Here you have a choice, take the 200 or so steps till you reach the gate (then another 200 from the gate in the boundary of the property to the hotel itself) or call the villa and tell them where you are and Andrea will come and help you with your luggage.
Anyway, now the good stuff!. The view from the outside eating area and from the rooms is worth the price alone, a simply stunning vista of Amalfi and the bay. Rina herself is a delightful hostess and you really do feel like a member of the family. Each room is simply furnished but clean and cosy. I would highly reccomend having at least one evening meal during your stay, superb traditional cooking mostly using ingrediants grown in the garden.
You get a bottle of house wine, FOUR courses and homemade Limoncello to finish!!

Room Tip: If possible book the room on the top floor, huge terrace and more privacy.

This was a completely amazing place to stay! Wonderful in absolutely every way! A very homey personal experience. It was like having an Italian mom for a couple of days. Rina is absolutely wonderful, I really enjoyed her hospitality, the help she gave us in making our plans and getting around the town, and the evenings we spent talking. Her food was completely amazing, we really enjoyed having dinner here every night we stayed, watching the sun set and all the little lights go on in town as we ate. She served us amazing limoncello and dessert.

The Limoncello, olive oil, wine, cheese, and likely much more, are all made on the property, and were some of the best we had in Italy! Staying at Villa Rina was paradise, I definitely hope to go back!

Room Tip: They're all good rooms!

Rina does say 'there are many steps', don't dismiss these words of warning!

But don't whatever you do let that put you off having a truly wonderful Italian holiday. Rina is there to help in whatever way she can, has great tips and advice and is a sensational cook. We stayed there for 5 days in June and those stairs put us in good stead for hiking in other parts of Italy. It's hard work but we did find out about a bus that stops high above the villa which makes it easier and it is a decent walk into Amalfi.

Would I stay there again, without hesitation, yes. Rina was a fantastic cook and walks into Amalfi each day to buy fresh what she doesn't grow, her Tiramisu was the best we have ever tasted. Superb fresh fish wrapped in lemon leaves, fresh seafood, all amazing.

Breakfast out on the balcony each morning was a great way to start the day. You can watch the little boats going out to fish, the ferries bringing their first load of passengers in and the occasional liner.

It's quiet here, a place to step away from the chaos of Amalfi centre. Wake up in the brass bed, open the shutters and let the sun melt into your bones, it's a wonderful way to start the day. Rina wants to make sure you love Villa Rina as much as she does, it isn't too hard.

Note - any trips booked through Rina require a cash payment when checking out and wi fi could be an issue.

Room Tip: They all face the ocean! The room at the top has a large balcony, great for sunbathing and washing...

This was a real find for us on weeks holiday around the coast - Rina's cooking is the best we have ever had and her hospitality and advice were much appreciated. It is a 20 minute walk from Amalfi but the views en route make it worth it - We will be back!

Is it luxury that matters to you, there are plenty of top-class and mainstream hotels in Amalfi to choose from, but is it more about the experience of authenticity in hospitality, helpfulness and outstanding italian food, Villa Rina is absolutely a necessity to have in consideration when the trip to Amalfi should be planned. Rina is a splendid host and she delivers a total experience of highest quality.
