I am without words. This is a truly a special Hotel that makes you feel a part of a family. The rooms has fantastic sea views. Room number 7 is my choice as it has a big balcony. The lemon terrace is fantastic. Fantastic fresh food served for breakfast and dinner.
Coffee and tea is made to your individual taste and the staff in this family run hotel could not be more helpful and welcoming. An evening meal is a delight and is cooked to your individual request by Rita who is an amazing chef and a hidden gem at this hotel. Pasta and seafood were delicious and her cakes and pastries are to die for. Daniele,Sara and Mario at reception speak very good English and give you information on the best way to travel around the area. This is a Hotel you will be coming back to again and again....

Room Tip: Room number 1,2,3 and 7 have a fantastic balcony.

I've just returned from a week in Amalfi staying for the second time at this lovely hotel above the stunning Amalfi coast where we experienced Italian hospitality at it's very best. The hotel is in a pefect position to explore the whole of the Amalfi Coast with the Sita bus stopping outside in one direction to Positano and Sorrento and in the other direction 5 minutes into the centre of Amalfi with connections to buses and ferries for the whole region. All of the bedrooms have a sea view, some with balconies. The rooms are spotlessly clean and are serviiced each day and all have ensuite bathrooms, TV, hair dryer, mini bar etc There is wireless access in the bar/reception area and a laptop for guest useThere are two terraces with sea views where you can relax. The hotel is surrounded by it's own lemon grove and vegetable garden so you can wander up the terraces and enjoy the scent of the lemons. Breakfast is the best I have enjoyed with a selection of fresh fruit, pastries, yoghurts and wonderful Italian bread, salami and cheese etc. Coffee and tea is made to your individual taste and the staff in this family run hotel could not be more helpful and welcoming. An evening meal is a delight and is cooked to your individual request by Rita who is an amazing chef and a hidden gem at this hotel. Pasta and seafood were delicious and her cakes and pastries are to die for so no weight loss on this trip!!!Daniele,Sara and Mario at reception speak very good English and are a mine of information on the best way to travel around the area. We are already planning our next stay .

Room Tip: Four rooms have balconies with a table and chairs. Three rooms have a balcony just for standing, oth...

The SITA bus stops right at the door of this small hotel built against the terraced hillside on the main Amalfi coast road. It was a great location for exploring the southern Amalfi Coast. Amalfi is at the end of the route, so we did not run into crowds on the buses. Easy access to town of Amalfi where you can hop ferry to Positano or connect with red bus to Ravello or other towns. We did not bring a car--it is a nuisance to find parking and driving looked frightening. Buses rule! If you do have a car, La Pergola has a parking garage for an additional charge which is customary. Sara, the most friendly and energetic concierge, went above and beyond to book train tickets for us back to Rome (ferry to Salerno, then high speed train was quickest) and gave us lots of tips for places to go and things to do. A few minutes walk from the hotel are steep steps down to the beach--much more beautiful than the beaches in town, not crowded and the water is warm and crystal clear. We enjoyed one of the two rooms with a private terrace overlooking the busy road and and out to sea. When we returned at night, it was nice to sit out with a bottle of wine and watch the world go by. Road noise did not bother us, the room was comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was the usual, except add delicious homemade pastries. On the top floor is a lovely public terrace bordered by lemon trees. We wanted to do some town-to-town walking tours from here, but it was just too hot in July. Highly recommended and would definitely return.

Room Tip: Request a room with private terrace.

We stayed here in October, so the end of the season. After arriving we realised there was no parking nearby but for an extra charge could park in their garage. There is a bus stop right out side if you are taking public transport, we did walk it into town once but the roads are tight and not pedestrian friendly and its a good couple of kilometers. NOTE public parking in Amalfi itself is very expensive 5Euro an hour and very limited even off season. Overall relatively friendly staff, room is nice and big and modern as is bathroom. Usual downside is road traffic as the hotel is right on the road, with barely a footpath in front, and it faces the same road going back up the hill across the 'gorge' and weaving back up the hill above the hotel so three roads for the price of one!
Wasnt the worst for traffic but maybe after a week of it in other hotels we were just getting used to it. Breakfast wasn't amazing, just passable had worse on the trip, and breakfast room was pleasant but in the ground floor with small arch windows so light on all the time, dont expect amazing views from there. We explored their lemon garden on the roof and that was pleasant. Overall if you dont mind the traffic and want a cheaper place out of town that you can get to by bus its ok, but if you want somewhere with a bit of life and a choice of places to eat close by you need to be closer to town, but then you pay for what you get...

Room Tip: If you have time check out their lemon garden, roof terrace. Bedrooms themselves only have a side vi...

Hotel La Pergola is a gem. Although not located in a particulary convenient spot in regard to Amalfi, you can still walk into town (dodging traffic to be sure) in about 15 minutes or so. the hotel is quite new, clean, on the local bus route, has limited parking, free breakfast, and a staff who seem genuinely interested in you. Sara is a great person, willing to help, offer advice, and insight into the area. The evening meals are quite good, reasonably priced, and the desserts are fabulous. Overall, a great find. Thank you Trip Advisor.

Room Tip: We got the "Superior" room, with a balcony that had a view of the water, the bus stop, but...

La Pergola is a lovely family run hotel located on the main coastal road along the Amalfi Coast. When we first arrived this did concern us, but realised pretty quickly that almost all hotels would be located as such unless you paid for a quieter location. Still the blinds and windows were pretty good at drowning most of the road noise out meaning it wasn't difficult to fall alseep.
Dan and Sara were very welcoming and accomodating providing information about the hotel, local area and things to do which was very useful.
The food whilst having limited choice on the menu was excellent home cooked food (by the mother I believe) and options did change daily. It was also possible to order off the menu and they would try and accomodate you as far as possible.
Wireless Internet access was available in the foyer, with the alternative of using the hotels computer located in the dining room.
All in all an excellent experience
