First and foremost, the service was top notch. Christian at the front desk was fantastic. Pleasant, helpful and happy to help. The cleaning staff and server at breakfast were full smiles and good service as well. The breakfast on the rooftop was the best we had during our European trip and had more than we could eat and drink (WELL beyond the simple meat and cheese and roll we got at our other hotels). The pictures do not do the property justice. It is well maintained, good sized rooms and brightly lit. We had two rooms for a family of 5 and plenty of space and slept in comfort. When we had to leave before breakfast service on our last morning, the staff even made sure we had some food to take with us. If we have the opportunity to return to Amalfi again, I will look nowhere else for a room!

Room tip: Second floor will get you away from the hotel entrance and give you a quiter stay

Stayed here for 5 days and it was amazing. Staff was super nice and in a great location. Great breakfast included every morning on the roof. Felt like I was treated like family while I stayed here. Rooms are a good size and the ac works very well.

Convenient location just a short walk from the buses and ferries (5*); Christian is helpful and accommodating host, provided map, bus schedule and advice on touring the area (5*).
We asked for a quiet room, and were assigned to Il Valletto room, on the 1st floor. It was an OK room, on a small side, with a strange layout, as the shower was located right by the entrance to the room, but the bathroom was across the room. Every time you step out from the shower, you need to cross the room to the bathroom. Manageable, but not ideal. The water in the shower was not hot, and the pressure was low.
A plus for me was having a small refrigerator, kettle, mugs and wine glasses in the room.
Breakfast is served at the rooftop terrace. Extensive selection of items, but many were prepacked, unappetizing, and not the best quality for Italy.

Had an excellent 5 nights at Antica Repubblica. Location in the heart of Amalfi Town was great. Christian was exceptionally helpful with fantastic advice and lots of ideas. Breakfast on the roof terrace was an excellent way to start the day. A great stay.

The hotel is perfect for a family of 5. My kids 14, 10, and 8 loved it here. The breakfast was the best my kids have had in Italy and included. The restaurant La Perla neighbor is also excellent. The roof top is a great way to start the day, but make sure to go street level when the main street is packed with school kids at 7. The walk to nearby towns is fun and easy for the kids. Take the sidewalk around the auto tunnel if walking to Atrani. It can be little dicey. While swimming in Atrani we found a very cool octopus moving through the area. Great trip.
