We were tired from traveling all over Italia. Amalfi was supposed to be relaxation and we were exhausted & ready to leave when we got there. The bus driver dropped us at La Ninfa and we rung the bell. Enter Maurizio. He knew we were tired. He knew we were sick of running around. He offered us a drink & we settled in. It was late to go into town for dinner, but our host turned us on to the pizzeria 100 m up the road. Best damn pizza I had in Italia (buffalo mozzarella) followed by a local treat: limoncello. By the time we got back to our room, all was warm & well and we listened to the waves lap the rocks below our cliff-side patio... & after a soak in the tub, I had the deepest sleep after weeks on the road. We woke up unwound and walked up stairs for breakfast... & fell in love with the La Ninfa cappuccino. Staring at the marine layer reminded me what vacation was really about. We walked down to Amalfi a couple of times, but most of our time was spent at La Ninfa & the pizzeria up the road... because we found what we were looking for right there. We wrapped up our 2 week trip through Italia with a relaxing, romantic bow courtesy of La Ninfa. Simpatico.

We booked a "superior double room" at the Hotel La Ninfa for four nights but left after one night in part because the room (No. 4) was smaller than a cabin on a Mediterranean ferry. A small bed against the wall meant that my wife had to step over me to use the bathroom. The mattress smelled of old sweat; the television set, perched upon a wardrobe, did not work; the air conditioner could not be used at night because it was directly over the bed; the drain in the bathroom sink was blocked.. The hotel has no lobby as such, just a breakfast area. There are no comfortable chairs in which to relax. Standard rooms have no windows. Using the beach costs fifteen euros per person per day. Hotel policy dictates that guests pay in advance for the entire stay, whether it is for two nights or two weeks. So we were refused a refund for the three subsequent nights. Of course, the hotel is free to rent the vacated room to whomever it pleases, thereby doubling its profit. Booking.com, through which we reserved the room, was unable to get us a refund. So be warned. The hotel treats its guests as prisoners. After our experience at the Hotel La Ninfa, we checked into the Hotel Aurora in Amalfi, where the room was clean, spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed attentive service, a pleasant breakfast in the garden and free swimming. Best of all, we paid less per day than at La Ninfa. The choice is yours.

On this I want to summarize in detail and at various points in his
complaint in order to clarify the situation.

1. At the Hotel la Ninfa all superior rooms have sea views, but
not have a balcony

2. I'm sure the mattress, and I guarantee that does not give off bad odors
As the hotel has just purchased 3 months ago (before the
summer)
3. The air-conditioning, it is true that it is positioned above the bed but
Note that it is the latest model of inverter of the "Carrier"
where he could adjust the handy remote control, the direction of flow
air temperature, intensity, and the humidity that he preferred.

4. The LCD TV that is placed on the cabinet in the room with you
leased land and is equipped with digital I can not explain the reason for his
not functioning as it has over 300 channels in standard DGTV
Italian.

5. The hotel's lobby, all with sea view, which is one of
Our strength as it is served by free WiFi throughout the 24
hours of the day, in addition to being used as a breakfast room on the
morning

6. The hotel is to be precise 1650 mt (milleseicentocinquanta meters)
entrance of the historic center of Amalfi limited traffic. This is
clearly indicated on our site
7.
a) As to your question about the cancellation policy: a
cancellation or any type of change (early departure lounge
partial) to be under the legal point of view a unilateral change
of the lease (the contract for accommodation).
b) Each hotel has free right to decide its policy of
Cancellation within the limits of the Italian Civil Code
8. the lease in this case is a contract between several parties
is made valid at the precise moment when
completes the transaction is completed and the hotel booking
checking the validity of your credit card, so sending
report card is not valid

9. our feedback and reviews on the various portals and specific sites
speak clearly on the subjective satisfaction of clients (around
86-88%). Obviously this is just a subjective.

Objectively speaking we publish all our sites on the parter
pictures of the rooms that are assigned in order to make clear (and therefore
from the objective point of view what we offer or not.

10. The hotel after his early departure, cancellation or change in
terms resolutely believes the lease and is therefore free to
leased to another hypothetical and potential customer (that maybe has failed
because of his previous book that follows the block to
sales in all major online travel portals)

11. The hotel has deadlines, cancellation policies and laws of the Civil Code. that
We hold respect in all its forms.

12. access to private beach costs € 15, or can access the beach and free public free of charge through the hotel stairs
13 * that is not an answer but my simple question, if
was not satisfied with the room my assistants have proposed
the immediate change of room from the day 09.22.2010 (so-called free
upgrade) that she would not accept at no additional cost

My husband and I spend 3 nights in this wonderful hotel in September 2010. Marizio (The Doctor) due to his bike riding abilities is a fabulous host. The first night we arrived a bit shell shocked due to the hair raising drive from Tuscany but we were greeting like old friends and told that if we didnt feel like getting down to the town we could stay in drink wine and they would order in pizzas for us. We did this and the next day explored Amalfi which we loved. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, we had an ocean facing room which was perfect for us.

Perched on a clifftop, about 3 km from the centre of town, this place is fabulous. We arrived late morning, long before the official 2 o'clock check-in. Our room had already been vacated, but not cleaned. The cleaner set to work right away and had our room for us in about 30 min., during which we sat in the long, narrow breakfast room and drank in the sea views through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Other staff were equally helpful & friendly. Our room was more like a ship's cabin, with a very cosy bathroom. The size is understandable given that this place is pasted onto the side of a cliff - so the building is quite narrow. We had a corner room with views both over the sea and along the coast. The bed (a double), which took up most of the room, was comfortable. Breakfast was a buffet of fresh pastries, bread, yogurt, juice and as many espressos/cappuccinos as you want. Free internet is available 24 hr. Buses run regularly from the centre of town (anything going west will get you there); get off at "LONE". Buses going into town don't always stop at LONE, but there is a stop just up the street at the Tabacconist/Pizzeria. There is a beach at the base of the cliff - you can either walk a long way down or, for 15 Euros round trip, take the elevator in a nearby hotel - you need a ticket for this, available from the staff, who will also provide beach towels. If I recall correctly the price of the elevator also includes a beach chair.

Hidden gem in this fantastic area. The hotel is not flashy, no over the top sign, simple receptipn area but the service is great. Maurizio and other staff are great hosts. And they are really generous. I booked for standard room with no ocean view which is still great room but on the second night, he gave me the room with view without additional cost. The room with the view is amazing. I slept with open window so I could listen to the sound of the wave and the moonlight in the room. And in the morning, the sunshine wake me up. You have to stay there to really appreciate it.

So what else? The hotel has shared private beach with the other hotel. We can pay 15 Euros for elevator and umbrella. But there is stairs to go down to the beach. It's quiet steep but the view is fantastic. The beach itself? amazing. The breakfast was also great. The warm croissant and home made juice were perfect to start the day.

Overall, it was a great experience staying there. I would stay there again if I have a chance to come back to Amalfi coast.
