Beatiful church at the top of the stairs that begin in the main square. The visit is beatiful, but admiring it while you seat in one of the bars in the square and drink a beer and wait for the sun to go down in the back of the church is even better!!

Very interesting, much more than a normal cathedral, with ancient and less ancient parts. Not to be missed

I will definitely come back next time when we visit Amalfi again. It's the moment of truth - I felt the connection with God again... Off season offers the unusual serenity for the holy place, and it was absolutely a golden opportunity for everyone to see, listen and feel...

The church complex reflects the extreme wealth that Amalfi town had when it was a major seafaring power (and was much larger) The facade is elaborately marble covered and has a fairly long stairwell providing dramatic overviews of the square. The cloister (the entrance) has some carvings mounted on the walls, and is the best locale for viewing the bell tower. The school contains the relics and treasures, which display the extreme wealth of the patrons. The crypt is very ornate, with the relic of St Andrew behind the altar. The actual church is very baroque. It contains some statues that are used in feast day processions.
Worth a stop in Amalfi town.

This church is of great historical significance to Amalifi. A must see. Plus the remains of ST Andrew, the fisher of men.
