My wife and I wound up a tour of Italy with a stay in Amalfi at the Hotel Aurora. We didn't know it until we got there, but we had really saved the best for last. This is a delightful little place where the emphasis is on service and making your stay a memorable experience. Our seafront room with its huge terrace was sparkling, neat and comfortable. Breakast on the patio overlooking the water was an absolute delight. Andrea and his staff are ever courteous and helpful and the word 'no' is not part of their vocabulary. The Hotel Aurora is an oasis of calm and our stay was an absolute pleasure.

Excellent place to stay if in Amalfi for people who have knee problems as right on the beach. No steep steps to climb; also just minutes from city centre, clean, comfortable with wonderful view and friendly and helpful staff. Would go there again if in Amalfi.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the ocean; it was peace.

Efficient communication before our visit; very helpful staff; wonderful location; very quiet area but an easy walk from the town centre; gorgeous room with a huge terrace; good choice of breakfast served on the beautiful terrace.

We wholeheartedly recommend the hotel.

Just arrived back from Aurora in Amalfi. What a lovely little Hotel in a fabulous position at sea level....which is fantastic as some Hotels are high up with lots of steps or use of mini buses to ferry you backwards and forwards. Not very glamorous from the outside but spotless inside with great staff. Missed having my breakfast this morning sitting on the terrace overlooking the beautiful bay.....just a couple of things we thought would improve things....T making facilities in the room and an English TV Channel that had a decent reception....Overall a fab holiday with great weather even though it was stormy when we arrived.
Great restaurants .....quite expensive but good, didnt have a bad meal all week. Would definately go again. Probably the most beautiful coastline I have ever seen....but wouldnt like to go at the height of the season,
We are both in our 60s and quite fit which you need to be....not the place to go if you find steps and hills a problem.

On approaching Hotel Aurora you think you have made a mistake....but don't be put off by the outside because it is a fabulous find, it's QUIET - something you don't get in town with the sound of Church bells at 07.00 and the staff are very professional and efficient as well as super friendly and helpful. Breakfast overlooking the marina is FAB, sea views are great, we had a very large balcony and it's a few steps to a pebbly beach where you can hire sunbeds and be quite private. The rooms are spotless, king size bed extremely comfortable, lots of wardrobe space and good sized bathroom with shower. Plus - it's actually really good value for money, I would go back tomorrow and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends. It's a 5 minute walk into town and most of our friends who stayed in town regretted it because of the noise at night, i.e. garbage trucks collecting rubbish at 01.00, scooters, and the Church bells which are very loud at 07.00.

Room Tip: Room with sea view is worth it

The hotel is opposite the beach with easy access to boats/buses and the town centre. The reception staff are excellent and most helpful with advice for day trips etc. Our room had an amazing balcony that overlooked the sea, shame the weather was cold and wet when we were there! If returning to Amalfi we would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: Room with balcony overlooking sea.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Aurora Hotel is the perfect spot to spend an unforgettable holiday in Amalfi.Located nearby the Amalfi Marina, the hotel is only 500 meters from the hustle and bustle of Piazza Duomo. It is the ideal accommodation for visiting the Amalfi Coast and its picturesque villages, such as Ravello, Positano, Capri and even the Pompeii Excavation, which are all within easy reach. The bus station and the wharf are only 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel. After a long day-trip, Aurora Hotel is just a short walk to downtown and the beach, and it is accessible without climbing stairs. One final recommendation from the hotel management: if you want to spend a few relaxing days in Amalfi, please check Aurora Hotel location on Google Maps and compare it with other hotels. Most of Amalfi hotels are located in the noisy old Town, accessible by climbing long stairs; some others are located on the highway to Positano, so you will need to take the bus, a taxi or your car in order to reach the city, driving down one of the busiest roads in Italy! ... more   less
