Lido Azzurro is right at the water's edge in Amalfi harbour and, as you would expect, so many of the things on the menu have come fresh from the Mediterranean. The fried anchovies stuffed with smoked provolone cheese are a wonderful starter, as are the marinaded anchovies. I don't know the Italian - or the English - names for the local fish, but we had them simply grilled or as filets in lemon sauce. You see the lemons growing on the nearby hills. And when you look into the sea from your table you see the fish swimming. Service is excellent, in Italian or English or, no doubt, several other languages as well. We ate here three times on our week's holiday in Amalfi in July. Happy memories.
