The hotel is located on the major road that travels up the Amalfi Coast. The hotel is a bit dated. We had a nice room with a huge adjoining balcony that had amazing views of the ocean. The room was a bit noisy from the road traffic. The hotel is walking distance to Amalfi except that there is limited sidewalks and you often need to walk on the busy narrow road. There is beach access with the hotel, with both elevator and stair access to the beach. You have to pay for the elevator which might be worth it if you are not in the best of shape as the stairs are truly a long haul and not in the best of conditions. The younger man who seems to manage the place is really nice and attempts to accommodate you. His father is rude and not considerate of tourists. We wanted to bring a coffee in the morning to the room and enjoy sitting on the balcony. He yelled at us and told us that only his staff can carry beverages to the room. He made some comment about spilling on the carpets. (which needed to be replaced so not sure what his concern was)

For 20 euros/ night, we were moved to a suite on the top floor. What an excellent value as you had uninterrupted sun and a better view of the sea. You can ask for the upgrade when you get there.

The parking is dicey but we were there at 11am so we were lucky. Make sure you get there early if you have a car otherwise you will be relegated to parking on the street and you DEFINITELY DON'T WANT TO PARK ON THE STREETS ON THE AMALFI COAST. Every car has been hit as the road (which is on the side of a mountain by the way) is a one lane road with 2 way traffic including buses. People park in little crevices and no wonder their cars have been hit.

The rooms are average size for Italian standards (small by N. American standards). The staff are excellent. Make sure you don't tick off the old guy (there are only 4 people who work on the lobby floor) as I think he is the founder of the hotel. The old guy does everything from making cappuccinos for breakfast to making sure you park in the appropriate stall. He is a micro manager but cute also. The views of the sea are beautiful!! The breakfast is the best we had in Italy as the old guy makes it and everything is meticulously prepared. Very clean rooms and great location.

There is no fitness centre.

We stayed in July for 6 nights. It was a delightful hotel. Our room was spacious, very clean and had a lovely balcony.

The hotel staff especially Antonio and his Father Thomas, were very helpful and gave us lots of tips and advice of where to go. They arranged a car to take us to Naples and we were not ripped off as we had been in other parts of Italy. I will miss chatting to Thomas as he has some really interesting funny stories. Either Antonio or Thomas would also drive us to the centre of Amalfi to save us some steps. It is a very friendly run family hotel.

The hotel is situated a little out of Amalfi where you have much better views and a nice walk into the centre of town.

The breakfast was lovely and I can still taste the freshly squeezed orange juice!

I will definately go back and will recommend this hotel to all my friends and clients.

We stayed for two weeks at this hotel. We had a room with seaview and a big beautiful terrace. This hotel is very nice and clean. The staff are always helpful and kind. The owners were very generous to us. We have a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with seaview with a terrace.

We stayed at the Hotel Bellevue Suites in April 2010 for two nights and found it more than adequate for what we wanted. We arrived at a time where there were clearly very few guests and so we were offered the opportunity to upgrade to a larger (nicer) room for around 20 Euros. We had a fantastic view over the sea and a very large shared balcony which was sectioned off and came with a few sun beds, and a table etc. The bedroom and facilities are pretty basic but more than adequate. I can definitely recommend that if you do book here that you ensure that your room faces the sea.

The walk into town is probably about 20 minutes or so and is downhill from the hotel so it’s less of a problem getting there but a definite problem getting back (I used this opportunity to work off dinner!). That said, you can get a taxi and I don’t recall them being that expensive. I must say though that when you do arrive in the town, it is lovely and there are loads of nice restaurants and an impressive cathedral/church which is beautiful when lit up at night.

If you have a death wish and are crazy enough to drive around the Amalfi coast, be warned that the roads are just about wide enough for one car and the pathetic roadside barriers do little to prevent the possibility of you falling off the sheer cliffs and into the sea! If you get a chance, visit Vesuvius which is about an hour’s drive and Sorrento which is lovely. We drove down the coast to Salerno but it’s a bit commercial and in my opinion not worth the effort.

I definitely recommend Amalfi and for the money we paid, I would recommend the Hotel Bellevue Suites. As I say, it’s basic, but if you’re only sleeping there then I think it is ideal.
