“A light lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2012

Ferry ride from Sorrento to Amalfi to meet friends staying at Maiori.

Walked uphill away from the sea and found a small square with a few tables. Decided to give it a try. Coolish reaction to request for a table but not rude. Don't like overly friendly, much prefer honesty. ww went for water, beer, wine, pizzas and salads followed by assorted pastries with coffee. No hurry to take our money, very relaxed. I love Italy!

Can't fault this place in any way. Food was honest, decent, tasty fayre. Enjoyed the thin crust pizza. Service was fast and good. Liked the location, even with the constant passing tourist traffic taking pictures around and water from the constant flow spigots over the stone trough near our table.

A very enjoyable lunch, at a reasonable price, in a pleasant square with really good company.

Perfect!

“Offering nice sea food, just front of small fontana”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2012

We dined first night Amalfi at this restaurant. It appeared to us this place was very popular and the queue outside was long.
We ordered the Insalata di mare alla Duchessa (serve from 2 pax) and Pacchderi alla Sant’Andrea (serve from 2 pax). Bothe dishes were very nice and delicious however we surprised that the pasta dishes were very expensive (70 euros) and you need consider that choice of the dishes. Pleasant services and a nice atmosphere.

“Rude staff, would avoid!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2012

I can not judge the food as I didn't actually eat here since the staff were so rude and unwelcoming! The only communication we received was through grunts and pointing. After looking at the menu to realise that the food wasn't even cheap (to match the service) we left and felt it was idea to spend our money in the other welcoming and tasty restaurants nearby. Most restaurants in Amalfi are fairly decent, why give money to people that are so exceptionally rude and ungrateful for the custom?!

“Best dinners in Italy!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2012

This was by far our favorite restaurant in Amalfi as far as dinners go. We went there a half dozen times and food was always amazing, service was consistently good (ask for Antonio) and we never once ordered off a menu. We would just ask Antonio to give us the special or whatever he thought was the freshest of the day. And let me tell you, we were never disappointed! In fact we are already planning our next trip to Amalfi being the food connoisseurs just to go back here!

“Surly Italian Waiters”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2012

The food was good, really good actually, but the most memorable aspect of the whole experience was the stereotypical surly Italian waiter.

My wife had a lemon spaghetti, which had a lovely delicate flavour. But it took so long to get a billl and eventually I had to go inside to pay and was treated with such indifference that I really don't know why I bothered.

Excellent food at reasonable prices, but there's no way I'd go back.
