“Local delicious dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2014

Local spot with friendly service. Delicious dinner of pizza, homemade pasta and fresh grilled fish. Very reasonable and delicious. It was recommended by two different residents of Amalfi so it was not touristy, just the perfect dinner after a wonderful day in town.

“Andrea and His Brother Created a Masterpiece”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2014

We were referred here by a local and we were so happy that he did! When we arrived for lunch, we were the only ones in the restaurant and had the pleasure of chatting with Andrea - what a character! He was training a new server that day and the care that he took with her was just very nice to watch. Andrea is the face of the restaurant and while his brother turns out delicious meals from the kitchen. We had caprese salad, minestrone, pasta with ham - all outstanding. For dessert, Andrea suggested lemon cake which is made by a baker who prepares it in their kitchen early each morning. It was to die for! By the time we left, the restaurant was full and Andrea was running all over the place saying 'Mama Mia' and making sure everybody was happy. The informal atmosphere and fantastic food made this one of the most pleasurable meals we had on our 2-week trip to Italy -

“Andrea is Awesome!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2014

This restaurant is a must when in Amalfi! Andrea the host and waiter was very welcoming and quite a character as he was singing and saying "Mama Mia" as it became busier. The food was delicious - local grilled fish, mozzarella, local lemon desert and lemoncello. Andrea even took time to chat with us even although it was very busy. Andrea certainly makes the atmosphere warm and welcoming for tourists and his brother complements this by preparing all the delicious food. A great team of brothers! The only regret was that we could not go for a second night....

“Amalfi's hidden gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2014

We were in Amalfi in September 2013 and would have never discovered this lovely restaurant had it not been for the charming gentleman/owner who greeted us as we were passing by. After chatting with him for a bit, we were convinced. My husband had the seafood pizza, which was excellent. They were not cheap on the ingredients, which were fresh and delicious (huge mussels and shrimp). My plate of pasta was also delightful. You can really see and taste the authenticity in their ingredients. Our experience was so pleasant that we returned the following evening.

We especially appreciated the great service at Masaniello, the staff made us feel like family. It's truly the best restaurant in Amalfi.

“Delicious...approved by the entire family!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2014

After a week in Italy we had the opportunity to try all sorts of pizza and pastas from Rome to Amalfi and our last meal was on La Taverna di Masaniello - we all had pasta once again we all cleared the plate. The kids ate it all and this was the first time in 7 days. The Gnochi was good but my husband's pasta with mozzarela and albergines was unbeatable... they only had two choices of pudding that night (it was mid Feb after all) but neither tempted us. If you are after a friendly and welcoming place then this is very good. Its definitely more of a informal place to eat and therefore we felt comfortable attending with two children (they will also make half portions for the kids, adapt the main course to suit a child and were happy to try to understand my Italian too). Our only remark was the TV that they had on which we really do not like but this is not uncommon in some more relaxed Italian restaurants.
