“WHAT A GEM!”
Reviewed October 24, 2011

Absolutely LOVED this place. Was picked at last minute when we were driving through Italy. The owners were fabulous. We got a room for 4 adults. One large bed and one pull out. Very comfortable. Had kitchen and lovely bathroom. The location was up the street from activity but a short hike to action. SUZI (spelling?) was so kind and helpful when we got there. Called ahead and they arranged parking. Wish we had more time than just one nite! Plan on going back and staying here next October.

We would not recommend this hotel for your stay in Amalfi for the following reasons.
1) We did not receive the warmest of welcomes when compared with other places we stayed in Italy - being greeted as soon as we arrived with a list of rules and what we should and shouldn't do.

2) The bed was so unbelievably hard that we had to sleep on the couch.

3) The washing machine was broken and the owner made no attempt to have it fixed during our stay. When we raised this the first night with the owner he said to wait till the morning when another room would be available. In the morning we were told by one owner to move into a room with a working washing machine. After unpacking we were told gruffly by the other owner that we couldnt stay in the room as a guest was to arrive that day. So we moved back to our original room, and were told we could borrow the washing machine. We essentially had to stay around the flat for four hours to do our washing, as we didnt want to be washing when the new guests arrived. No guest arrived that day.

4) The flat advertised wi-fi - however the owner advised us on arrival that the internet only worked if you were outside the flat.

We booked the room over other places partly because it advertised a washing machine and internet - neither which were delivered successfully. Overall, not a great stay.

Room Tip: Do not recommend staying in the room on the ground floor as soon as you enter the complex. Extremely...

Excellent apartment with everything you need on a holiday. Loved having a washing machine and the Internet. Spent siesta time relaxing by the pool. Location is great, close enough by foot but not too close to all the hussle and bussle.

Wonderful apartment - spacious, clean, bright and well-equipped - everything modern inside a beautiful old building - and YES the pool is finished and is fantastic with pool side chairs and sun loungers amongst the lemon and olive trees.

A bit hairy driving under the arch, past the duomo and all the shoppers and tourists at 3pm in Amalfi town - but well worth it! On the map the resort looks miles away - but it is just at the top of the main drag into Amalfi. Parking is an absolute necessity - €20 well spent to hand over the keys to charming Salvadore who will look after your car in a covered carpark just below the resort entrance. You can access it at any time - but unlikely you will need to drive during your entire stay.

Susie, a charmiong host, will look after you during your stay.

No complaints whatsoever - just compliments and happy memories of a wonderful holiday.

The pool is now finished, and very nice. Love the waterfalls. As or the parking situation that has changed too. Due to the narrow roads and the fact that Amalfi is built on the side of a mountain there is no on site parking, but there is a parking lot 50 meters down the hill from the resort. The parking lot is owned by a man named Salvatore. He is extremely nice, speaks English, loves to talk, and you can get into your car any time. He is there from about 8 in the morning until 10 at night but also lives above the garage so you can get into your car at any hour. The parking lot used to be a body shop and is covered. Parking is 20 Euros a day and well worth it. We parked the car the entire time and took busses and boats.

The rooms were very large, clean, and well furnished. There is a full kitchen in every room and a washing machine so you can wash clothes. The resort is up the hill a few hundred meters from the water and a nice walk. There are many shops and resturants along the way and several markets if you want to prepare your own food. The resort is a former paper mill that has been restored and is very beautiful. It is across the street from one of the last paper mills, one featured on the Travel Channel. I can't wait to go back to Amalfi, and I plan to stay at this resort again.

booked this place because the website showed a beautiful picture of their pool and we had young children with us who wanted to stay somewhere with a pool. when we arrived we were amazed to find a building site with a half finished pool. there was no appology from the owners, nor any discount offered even when we insisted. i am disgusted that they were allowed to show pictures of a beautiful pool area, (even said they had a poolside bar) on their website that just doesn't exist!
spoilt out holiday slightly, and had we known this information beforehand we would certainly have booked somewhere else that DID have a pool. Bottlom line is we paid for a facility that wasnt there and their website is misleading and false. also their 'parking facility' involved someone taking our car to an unknown location and we had to call every time we needed it...slightly worrying on insurance grounds etc.

Room Tip: check location and check pool is finished
