Our hotel receptionist recommended this little restaurant in the centre of Amalfi next to the cathedral steps and were we glad that he did.
We ate there twice and had authentic and excellent food with good wine at reasonable prices and friendly interested staff.
The chef is a local lady and the reputation of this small and unobtrusive eatery is spreading .
We were staying and eating , at the Santa Caterina Hotel(Michelin star rated restaurant) and we had food as good at this small taverna so please support it because it deserves to be a great success

Desperate for a beer on a very hot day in Amalfi we came upon the Taverna as we were about to walk back to one of the bars in Atrani and decided to stop for a drink only. Had a quick look at the menu out of interest and decided to stay. I ordered the sea bass on lemon leaves and it arrived complete on a bed of lemon leaves. I asked if it could be taken off the bone, this was duly done and the result was magnificent. What a delicious main course, then followed by one of the very naughtiest of desserts. Wish we could have gone back again but Amalfi was absolutely heaving the next time we visited so had to miss out. Definitely recommend a visit.

We discovered this little piece of heaven on our Amalfi trip in late August by accident, but we ended up going the last 3 nights of our stay. This was what we had dreamed of what an Italian restaurant should be. Its a small romantic restaurant right above the town square and slightly away from the busy tourist area with amazing food. Luigi was a great host and the lady who owns the place is a great cook. We attempted to try most of the menu in our 3 visits and our favorites were the tomato salad, any of the pastas and the anchovies...simply the best we have had! We miss the food and staff!!

For a restaurant that touches the duomo this was a real surprise. Great food, reasonable prices (but they don't take cards or do coffee) and you sit outside and pity the milling tourists below.

Lovely place and very good service. Sea bream was the best food we ate in Amalfi ! One disadvantage- no credit cards accepted, but definitely recommend to visit this place.
