“Excellent place”

Everything is excellent ! Food, drinks, service, location, no noise. Internet is free of course. It is the best place in Amalfi in the evening.

“Mixed experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 28, 2012

This restaurant up from the main square had its definite attractions – a much more varied menu than most, with many regional dishes; a rarity in Amalfi namely a fixed price 3 course meal at €20 or €40, a great variety of wine reasonably priced and a good buzz. We had originally headed for Il Mulino with its rave reviews on Trip Adviser but found it closed on Mondays, so tried this on the way back. Everyone’s experience is different – we chose “wheat biscuits with tuna, salami etc” and the said biscuits turned out to be mildly toasted stale brown bread, and too much of it. My fish was supposed to be the local fresh catch which I ordered “al forno”, but the sauce was tasteless and the fish mediocre - they only charged me for the frozen variety in the end but never told me that was all they had. My wife’s pasta was however excellent. Service was patchy, but this is common for this part of Italy.

“Most dissapointing, not worth the money”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2012

The white wine was good even if it was the house's 'no name'. The rest was not good. For starter I ordered the 'fried mixed sea food'. I did not find the fish, but I found a lot of dough, some cheese and two prawns. The two prawns were okay. The dough was fried. I had hoped for some fish, but there was no fish. 7 Euro for a lot of dough and two prawns. For first main course I accepted the waiter's recommendation 'pasta with mixed sea food' as it was supposed to be the restaurant's speciality. Pasta was cold, sauce was very tasty (delicious, actually) and warm, and there were several empty shells - and one prawn; 12 Euro. From that point I gave up, paid the bill (31 Euro) and left. I will not come back. I had to go to "A'Paranza" in Atrani for a second lunch to cheer my self up again.
