Thanks to a tip from our Hotel we had an early lunch 1:30PM. We were the only table and were afraid we were making a mistake. Not so. The waiter welcomed us and the Chef sent us a special appetizer. As the afternoon wore on the restaurant began to fill up. We ate off the fish menu. You have a choice of meat and fish. The mixed seafood antipasti was excellent and the plate presentation was thoughtful as well. The pasta with mussels and clams was excellent and the pasta was fresh. For dinner we returned the next day and of course we were early again at 8:00 but we knew from having had lunch we had nothing to worry about. The restaurant also bakes all its on breads and they were excellent. We stayed with fish again and had the seafood antipasti which was different than the one we had had for lunch. It was a lot of food and various fish appetizers and was very good. I had the spada in a special sauce that was truly delicious. The only negative to the evening was the fact that only one waitress was available and as the evening progressed the restaurant filled up again. She was valiant in trying to handle 10 tables but no one could really handle that many tables and provide top notch service. One of the staff was ill which explained that issue. The chef came out of the kitchen to check on the dinners which was a nice touch. Zuppa de pesce was also generous and properly seasoned. This restaurant is good food thoughtful presentation and a fair value. Next time in Reggio Calabria I will be sure to visit again.
