very nice hotel, great swimming pool , not in the city center if that's what you're looking for, but if you have a car it's only 10 min drive . we had a really nice time there . very friendly stuff, helped us with the dinner reservations

This hotel is in the middle of nowhere but the views from the rooms/hotel are really nice with countryside and fields for miles in all directions. The hotel has nice grounds with a pool.
That's about it ! The food in the restaurant wasn't great and you have to eat down in the bowels of the hotel with no view of the nice countryside to be seen.

Enjoyed my two night stay at this modern property. It was very clean and sleek, with a good sized room-King Bed-and a wonderful bathroom with a walk in stall shower. The bed firmness is adjustable. My only complaint was the TV--which required two remote controls to turn on. Most of the time i couldn't connect to a station. Internet was free. Breakfast was good. My included dinner was disappointing. The pools and fitness facilities are top notch. The location is awful. Adjacent to a busy highway with a few houses nearby, it is impossible to walk anywhere. You could be in Milwaukee along the interstate rather then in Southern Italy. I was on a tour and the group was shuttled elsewhere by bus. If you stay here independently you need a car.

Hotel rather far out from town centre which surprised us, don't know why we were not aware of this. Hilton Hotel Matera not quite as luxurious as one in Lecce, trouble with safe and wifi connection very poor, kept cutting out every five minutes Evening meal OK, but nothing special. Rather strange atmosphere in hotel, might be OK for large conferences, but just too impersonal. Heard some strange tales from tour members when they went to get a drink at the bar. Almost seemed as if they weren't expecting us. Room very disappointing after Hilton in Lecce, the bed almost looked as though it was for a single person and the room was very small. We did have a balcony, but no chairs or table, so rather pointless. The best thing about the hotel was the outdoor pool which was lovely, also the gardens. I suppose you could argue that being so far out of town, the hotel made up for it by the outdoor facilities. Breakfast was below average. Tour groups were "fed" elsewhere away from the other guests.

I am amazed by the poor reviews. This hotel is fairly remote and that was part of its attraction. Beautiful, arid fields surrounding it and fantastically quiet. Marvelous pool area and the staff were very helpful and friendly. being vegetarian, the food was perfect for me.

The rooms were not huge - but quite adequate and the bed was comfortable. The hotel has a shuttle bus and if you wanted, there was a supermarket fairly near. We are world wide travellers and this hotel was 'fit for purpose'. We had a very pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room high up, with a view to the side or overlooking the pool area
