Our hosts, Aldo and Rosa, made our stay in Matera memorable for all the right reasons.
From Aldo's kind greeting, complete explanation of all the facilities and help to find the secure parking for our car (he even accompanied me to it, organised a cheap special rate for our 2 days, and then walked back to the B&B with me - 10 minutes walk) to Rosa's breakfasts and her kind attention to detail.
The room had a super balcony overlooking the Sassi, cathedral and a busy street with plenty of life going on to watch.
Only negative was typical of an old stone house with thick walls - the wifi internet was less than satisfactory in the room but okay in the cafe and breakfast room areas.
The Sassi of Matera are breathtaking and need to be on the tourist map of anyone interested in history in this part of Italy.
