This was my first Italian meal in Italy and I was disappointed to say the least.
Apart from us being the only people eating and the meal being finished in less than an hour, I can’t understand how it is so highly rated!
The waitress was lovely, very friendly and explained a little about the food.
I would have to say the food was bland and over priced. Squid with chicory, a local dish, it was like eating baby food.
The spaghetti with truffle and red prawn was tasty, but with only 4 small prawns on the top, again overpriced.
Very expensive evening at over 100 euros for 2 of us.
The restaurant itself is quirky built into the caves, but the food was nothing special and overpriced.
I read reviews on trip adviser to choose restaurants and the reviews highly rate this place, hence our visit. Look around Matera for more options.
The food here is not spectacular and is over priced.
The waitress was lovely and it must have been hard to only have 2 covers for most of the evening.
