3-4 minutes walk from matera old town.
Rooms are good size, bathroom is well equipped.
Indoor parking available for 15 eur per vehicle per day.
Breakfast was very good as quality and variety.
Hotel is lacking atmosphere in my opinion...

My three points come for the greatest asset - the location. And the garage, if you are lucky enough.
Never been in a place where the reception personnel has such an indifferent attitude to clients as in this hotel. When we arrived there were 2 behind the desk, no other clients. The man hardly lifted his head - not to speak about eye contact! - the woman was otherwise cool. One evening we came back after dinner, the man behind the desk did not react at all. We could have been anybody, not clients at all! We tested him walking to wait the lift just in front of the desk. No reaction. When the lift came, I said "Buona notte" and finally he mumbled something, I don´t know what. Leaving the hotel the behavior in the reception was once again chilly, we did not see a single smile on anybody´s face in the reception during our stay. The only exception were the young women in the breakfast room. They even smiled!
Check the bill before leaving so that you can ask the mysterious euros that showed up on our bill. The sum was surprisingly correct but the specifications more than bewildering.
The hotel itself was in quite a fresh condition, obviously recently renovated. Rooms are small and austere as well as the bathroom. Mind the shower! In the small shower cubicle there are a top and a hand shower. The top shower is so big that it covers almost all the cubicle and when you turn the water on, it starts coming from the top shower. Guaranteed wetness all over! Hope you are quick and have long arms to reach the change button from outside the cubicle.
The breakfast is different for individual and group travelers. After having seen the group travelers long self service breakfast table covered with countless sweet pastries you are not any more so dumbfounded in the breakfast room for individuals: there were for example one morning 36 different kind of sweet cakes, muffins, bisquits, rolls, filled croissants etc etc! Believe me - I counted them! I hope they do not call the breakfast international. It is 110 % Italian! OK, in this side there were a few salty pies and a basket of cooked eggs.
It is actually rather sad the the atmosphere makes the idea of coming back rather theoretical.

We stayed in this hotel as part of tour. Let's start with the good: location, location, location! Hotel is less than a 5 minute walk to the Sassi, which was the reason we were in Matera. The square near the hotel had great restaurants and shops. Breakfast was ok, as usual, it was a lot of sweets but there were also fruit, yogurt and focaccia options. Now onto the not so good: the room seemed like a dorm room, beds were tiny, there was a chair, desk and closet like type piece of furniture. Hairdryer looked like a vacuum part, shower was on the small side and I saw a few bugs in the bathroom. I didn't deal with the staff so I can't comment on that. We were only there for 2 nights and the location more than made up for any complaints.

Great location - 5 minute walk to main piazza, friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast with lots of choices. Room was a good size and very clean. Really wouldn’t think twice about staying here again - highly recommend this hotel.

Location can't be better - 20 m from main square in old town - rooms look new - recently renovated - big hotel - do. not expect anything - breakfast is mostly sweat - we left as nobody asked for coffee - lots of cheap coffee shops all over old town so no problem - car park under hotel - safe / 15 Euro per day
