An older hotel with plenty of character, charm, and comfort. Great location, in center of town and plaza. Breakfast was great. Staff were very helpful, in fact the owner/manager Antonietta, helped me connect with family from region. could not do it without her help.
Room was comfortable, plenty of space, high ceiling, clean, TV with plenty of stations but none in English. Breakfast was a great way to start the day, plentiful and good!!
Definitely would stay again.

Beautiful high ceilings and period furniture add to the quaint but spacious rooms. With modern large shower in a large (heated in winter) en-suite room. Comfortable beds, clean linens and towels, tv with most channels. Buffet breakfast was plentiful and varied for all ages and diets. Coffee is plentiful. There is a delightful and welcoming restaurant, over the road from the main doors, called Gaetano's, excellent cuisine and service. Good price as well and English speaking.
The hotel is 5 mins walk from the train and bus station of PESCARA. 5 mins from the beach area and the hotel is situated in the thriving area of this rapidly regenerating town. There is museums and other cultural sights in walking distance but the bus network is excellent -note buy your ticket in the newsagents or local shops and validate on the bus- the bus station is extremely helpful along with the Tourist information office also situated on the front edge of bus station forecourt.
This hotel offers various rates depending on which site you use, but generally you can reserve a room on-line with valid card details and pay actually when you arrive/depart the hotel.

Room Tip: all rooms are quiet and cooled/or heated as is the weather. No air con required because of the high...

We chose the Alba as a stopover after the late-night flight from London, and before a trip into the hinterlands of Abruzzo and Molise. It's a lovely hotel: coated in Baroque-lite cherubs, but underneath a professional setup run by an extremely friendly and helpful staff. There is parking and some pleasant-looking bars and restaurants nearby open quite late (typical on the coast in summer), but the superb Flaiano da Alfonso restaurant in the remains of the old town is only 10 minutes away. Pescara was badly bombed in the war and it is not the prettiest of towns, but it is good-natured and the beach (10 minutes from the hotel, with excellent bars en route) is pleasant. It is also, in July, on the flight path of swifts, wheeling and thinly screaming through the town. This avian migration is very much part of local culture, and we much enjoyed the night concierge's imitation of the sound their innumerable wings make en masse (something like 'shu-shu-shu-shu-shu') in autumn, when they head back to Africa.

We picked this hotel for it's location only about 7 minute walk to the train station. Our room was beautiful, with sitting area and bedroom separate. Very helpful reception personnel. Hotel was clean, bathroom was small but adequate. We had to catch a 6 am train so missed breakfast. The hotel is close enough to the beach to walk. There are many restaurants on the beach boardwalk.

Room Tip: We had room 142 a great room

Well situated near the train and bus station and 10 minutes from the beach, but nothing else of interest that I could find in easy walking distance. Difficult to find decent restaurants though plenty of posh shops! But fine for a stopover or business night especially out of season when very reasonable. Mine was a family room full of beds but comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. Decor a bit traditional to put it mildly (cherubs?) and lighting a bit random in the room - reading lights didn't work. Clean and welcoming staff, and the fact that my room was not ready when I checked in at 17.00 was not really a problem. I realised that Italy has different plugs from the rest of Europe - one would think that the hotel would provide a standard continental socket - and there were no foreign TV news stations despite 100+ Italian TV programmes. And Wifi pretty poor - not a great business hotel but it isn't meant to be, and all in all I would stay here again for the value for money and the location.

Room Tip: Back of the hotel in summer (though front ok during the winter with windows closed)

Hotel Alba is in the heart of Pescara and offers a good night's rest in a city that deserves more attention. The hotel is comfortable, clean and run with a friendly attitude and offers a good breakfast. All in all a first rate stopover. It's greatest advantage is its location surrounded by buzzy bars and real restaurants serving very good food.

I stayed here for one night after a late flight in from Stansted, in a first floor family room (beds: double and a small single)

Location: 10 mins walk from beach, but also 5 mins from the central bus and train stations - quiet area

general decor of hotel: lots of murals with cherubs, etc in the rooms as well as all the public rooms - interesting and not overpowering - makes this place a nice choice if you want a change from formulaic hotels.

Room: main bed big & comfortable, but small bed is only just over 5 ft long - only a small window and it faced on to a narrowish pedestrianised street, which would get annoying if there a week but fine for one night's stay

bathroom: shoehorned into a corner of the bedroom, so smallish, with only a shower, but good fttings and the free toiletries are ok quality

breakfast: best thing about the hotel - no hot food (unless you count toast!) but great choice buffet - juices, tea, coffee, pastries, cereals, fresh fruit - helpful staff on hand to assist

All in all a good choice for a short stay.
