Great atmosphere, lovely pub/restaurant............welcoming and great food!

We shared the scallops which were beautifully cooked, then had the belly pork and the Prawns on the Specials which were delicious and very good portions.

Great service, great food, definitely go back................

“Poor service. We walked out.”
Reviewed February 3, 2013 via mobile

Having not been here for many years we visited for lunch. On arrival we asked at the restaurant bar for a table. They prevaricated for a quite awhile and told us all the tables were booked. Only a few of them seemed to have signs to this effect however and we were then told us we could eat in the main bar.
We were taken to a small table, the smallest in an empty room, and when we asked for a larger one there was a reluctance. So we left for somewhere where we felt more valued.

“Perfect Wedding Setting”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

We had a small wedding here on 1st December 2012 and 'hired' the room upstairs for 22 of us which seated us perfectly. We also managed to have a table for cupcakes and a sweet table. This was the first time the pub had catered for a wedding in the upstairs part of the restaurant.

From the word go Amy (restaurant manager) was brilliant at helping us organise our day; from seating arrangements, menu choices and table decorations. She was always very helpful and nothing was ever a problem. On the day, Amy and her staff set up the room for us, just as we had asked and expected and it really transformed the space.

The service on the day was fantastic and couldn't be faulted. We had requested if we could have cocktails on the day which was arranged and was no problem. The food was taken from a set menu (which we put together with Amy) and was delicious! Even the fussist of guests had no complaints! In particular the prawns for starters were amazing. All the guests commented on how lovely the food was.

The location of the pub, being near to the ponds in Long Itchington made for some lovely photos.

I would definitely recommend this pub for not only lunch/dinner but if you ever considered having a small intimate wedding like we did or similar celebration.

Thank you to all the staff for making our day very memorable and all your hard work.

Emma Perry.

“disappointed”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

After several enjoyable visits to this restaurant we have recently experienced a very uncomfortable and disappointing evening. We were a group of 12 and were told if we could wait until 8pm they could fit us in. When we did arrive we were seated in the public bar area and seated at garden tables with double garden seats and armchairs. We were very cramped and the service was awful. We had to get our own drinks and apart from serving the food and clearing the table we did not see any members of staff. We were charged restaurant prices to eat in a bar
and not even have restaurant service. The majority of the food was very good but a couple of the steaks were tough and full of grissle.
