“new owners, same story”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

After being encouraged to have a meal by the new "owners" and after looking at the new menu I said great we will be in tomorrow afternoon. Turned up today for a table for 4 at 5 oclock only to be told they were not serving food today by the arrogant barman. When I said I would never come back and eat he laughed and said see you Monday. Overpriced cider bottles at £3.95 and a lack of consistency. Go for a beer yes, food NEVER!

“Lovely lunch!”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

Visited on a Saturday lunch time and enjoyed a really nice meal. The weather was good so we sat outside on the decking in the sunshine. Nice menu selection for lunch and my salad was delicious and very good value for money. Staff very attentive and friendly! Will definitely return to try an evening meal. Overall nice village pub!

“No ducks on the pond”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

A typical country pub in this enchanting village. We went here on the recommendation of another member of the family. I understand this has fairly recently undergone a refurbishment giving it a bistro feel. On this Saturday evening, having arrived early we took advantage of having a pre dinner drink in the sunshine before ordering our food. No order can be taken before 6.00 pm. I had chosen the open lasagne with roasted vegetables. I was rather disappointed to receive a tiny piece of al dente lasagne pasta with a lots of aubergine and a little goats cheese. The garlic bread was very nice. We ordered coffee but the waitress left us with the tray of coffees as there was no room on the table, there would have been if she has removed the plates. The lack of saucers for the coffee cups bought a smile to our faces.

“Very nice place to eat”
Reviewed November 21, 2012

We ate on a Saturday night so it was quite busy. My only comment was the table are very close together and you can hear other conversations and you could be sat in the middle of it all!!. Food was very good and value for money. The place is very clean and tidy and a friendly bar area plus a nice outside area which is great for a summer evening.
