“Brilliant B&B close to Grand Union Canal”
Reviewed October 31, 2011

Peter and Cheryl (and Zac the dog) are very welcoming hosts. Fabulous breakfast with a choice of their own hen or duck egg. Our room was overlooking the chickens, ducks and a bunny. Our daughter thought it was fabulous watching the ducks take their morning pond dip. Our family suite was clean, well laid out and perfect for three of us - albeit the room and double bed a tad on the small size. The family bathroom was great - shower had good pressure and lots of hot water. Both rooms had TVs - the smaller with built in DVD player. The outside is shabby chic / well lived in. Dinner - lots of pubs close by / within short walking distance. We had a fantastic meal in the The Buck and Bell which was far superior to The Duck on The Pond.

We stayed in the B&B in the main house while our friends camped on the grounds. Our room was lovely, not quite a double bed so a little small but very clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom. The owners are really friendly and made us a nice breakfast to our requirements in the morning and were generally just really nice people to stay with :)

What a fantastic place, found it at short notice but it was exactly what I was looking for. Our room was just off the main house with a clean kitchen and bathroom, small living room and lovely bedroom. Stable doors led onto an enclosed courtyard for our dog although he was very welcome anywhere, even in the breakfast room and played with Zac the resident collie. Old bits of farm machinery decorate the grounds, real shabby chic but with modern conveniences like tv and electric shower. The owners are very welcoming and donkeys and chickens abound (and a rabbit that thinks he's a chicken!). The village is picturesque and 5 or 6 pubs are within 15 mins walk including 3 on the canal banks. Can't recommend enough, paid 60 pounds for double room and breakfast (courtesy of the chickens!). A real rural gem with no pretensions just a warm, cosy environment in a beautiful setting, plenty of walks and dog friendly pubs. I'll definitely be returning!
